At EDR, we strive to create a better environment for our people and our clients.

EDR is a multi-disciplinary environmental consulting and design firm that has been in business for over 40 years. This position represents a career opportunity with one of the leading renewable energy permitting consultants in the Eastern United States. We are committed to creating a better environment by supporting projects that address climate change, facilitate the transition to renewable energy, and improve sustainability. At EDR, the Visualization Services Group has grown into one of the most recognizable names in the industry. We are working on the first, the largest, and the most publicized projects in the renewable energy industry. Our reputation and success in the industry has allowed us to expand our services nationwide. To that end, our visualization team is seeking a highly motivated, competent, full-time Senior Project Manager to join our Visualization Services Group in our Syracuse, New York office. Remote work options can also be considered for qualified candidates.

Our Visual Impact Assessment (VIA) projects have gained national attention, and we are considered one of the leading VIA practitioners in the United States. Much of our visualization practice supports the renewable energy market, including offshore wind energy projects and land-based wind and solar energy projects. The Senior Project Manager will coordinate, supervise, and manage projects from proposal stage to completion with the support of internal staff. The successful candidate will have experience conducting and managing visual assessment projects, which may include:

  • Practical and technical knowledge in visual resource inventory and assessment with a minimum of 7 years of related job experience in visualization, planning, environmental science, landscape architecture, or other related fields applicable to visual impact assessment.
  • A thorough knowledge and understanding of GIS and the simulations process is considered a plus.
  • Experience in NHSEC, NPS, USFS FHWA, NYSDEC, CalDOT, BOEM, BLM, and/or ACOE visual assessment requirements/guidance.
  • Experience managing budgets, staff, and clients internally and externally.
  • Experience of project accounting, contracts, budgets, and change management.
  • Strong business development skills and deep experience with client relations.
  • Strong organizational, writing, and verbal communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to multi-task and work effectively and collaboratively in a team setting.

The anticipated base pay range of $85,000-$120,000 per year is commensurate with experience. EDR reserves the right to pay outside of the target range based on an individual’s education, credentials, skill level and relevant experience, as well as internal pay equity, geographic location, and business needs.

EDR’s staff includes a diverse group of professionals that includes ecologists, botanists, wetland specialists, wildlife biologists, GIS specialists, archaeologists, historians, visualization specialists, planners, landscape architects, and engineers.

Come to EDR and be a part of our small, but exceptional visualization team that is making big contributions in the renewable industry. Work on interesting and challenging projects and collaborate with our talented group of professionals!
