EBAS is partnering with a high-growth, AI-native startup that recently raised a Series A and is defining a new category in enterprise AI. The company is building foundational AI infrastructure that transforms how enterprises operate by turning expert workflows into autonomous AI systems.
This is an opportunity to become the first senior marketing hire, work directly with the CEO, define a new category, build the brand from the ground up, and create the marketing engine that will scale the business.
Location: New York or Remote
Why This Role Exists
Our client is defining a new category. They are building the foundational Work Model for enterprise software: a system that observes how expert operators work, synthesizes their expertise into agent logic, and executes it autonomously on their behalf. They have closed their Series A, have early enterprise proof, and are coming out of stealth. What they need now is the marketing leader who names and owns the category, builds the brand, and turns a genuinely hard-to-explain breakthrough into a story the market repeats back to them.
This is a category-creation role first, a demand generation role second, and both at once. You will make the company legible to a mid-market operator and a bank CIO alike, establish the narrative competitors end up borrowing, and build the demand engine that fills the funnel across both self-serve and enterprise motions. There is no brand book, no category page, and no pipeline machine yet—you will build all of it.
What You'll Own
- Category Creation & Narrative: Define and own the category. Build the positioning, messaging, and narrative that make the company's vision obvious and repeatable—from the homepage to keynote presentations to the way customers explain the product internally.
- Brand: Build the brand from the ground up, including identity, voice, and the company's emergence from stealth. Make an early, deeply technical company feel inevitable and premium without overclaiming.
- Demand Generation: Build the demand engine across both self-serve growth and enterprise pipeline. Own the funnel, acquisition channels, attribution, and pipeline with rigorous measurement—not vanity metrics.
- Product-Led Growth: Own activation, conversion, expansion, lifecycle marketing, onboarding, landing pages, pricing experiments, and product-qualified lead generation. Turn product usage into a scalable growth engine.
- Product Marketing: Translate product capabilities into compelling market narratives through launches, competitive positioning, and sales enablement. Partner closely with Product and Sales to drive adoption and revenue.
- Content & Thought Leadership: Establish the company's point of view in the market. Build the content engine and credibility that make the category feel real before the market has language for it.
- Analyst, Press & Ecosystem Presence: Shape how analysts, media, and the broader AI ecosystem understand both the category and the company's leadership within it.
- Team Building: As the first senior marketing hire, recruit and build the marketing organization across brand, demand generation, product marketing, and content.
What We're Looking For
- 10+ years of B2B marketing experience with senior leadership at a category-defining or high-growth software or AI company.
- Experience creating or materially shaping a new category—not simply marketing an existing one.
- Exceptional storytelling and positioning skills, with the ability to make highly technical products feel intuitive and essential.
- Experience building a brand from an early stage and taking a company or flagship product out of stealth.
- Strong experience across both self-serve growth and enterprise demand generation.
- Proven ownership of marketing metrics, pipeline, attribution, and revenue outcomes.
- Hands-on experience with product-led growth, experimentation, activation, conversion, and retention.
- Experience hiring and building high-performing marketing teams.
- Comfortable being the first senior marketing leader at a company that is still writing its own playbook.
What This Role Is Actually Like
You will work directly with the founding team. The product is genuinely differentiated—and genuinely difficult to explain. Making it understandable, compelling, and category-defining is the job. There is no existing category to market and no demand engine to optimize—you are building both. This is not a role for someone who wants to manage an established marketing function. It is for someone who wants to define a market.
