About the Role:
We’re looking for a Social Media Marketing Coordinator who is a strong content creator, trend-aware, and data-savvy. The ideal candidate has a portfolio that showcases their content work and a deep understanding of social media strategy across platforms like Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, and Pinterest. This is a contracted role and requires you to be NYC-based, with occasional in-person filming or strategy meetings.
Key Responsibilities:
• Content Creation: Develop and curate engaging short-form video, image, and text content that reflects our clients' brands and strategic goals.
• Content Scheduling: Manage and maintain content calendars to ensure consistent posting and alignment with optimal engagement times.
• Community Engagement: Monitor DMs and comments, engage with followers, and support in building strong, trust-based communities.
• Performance Monitoring: Track and analyze engagement, reach, traffic, and growth metrics to assess content and campaign effectiveness.
• Collaboration: Work with designers, writers, and strategists to create cohesive digital content across platforms.
• Trend Awareness: Stay ahead of platform updates, trending sounds and content styles, and viral moments to ensure relevance.
• Strategy Implementation: Assist in executing custom social strategies for multiple client accounts under guidance from our lead strategist.
• Reporting: Compile monthly or campaign-specific reports with insights, wins, and suggestions for improvement.
Requirements:
• Minimum 2 years of professional experience in social media marketing
• Strong portfolio of original content creation work (video, copywriting, visual design a plus)
• Proficient with platforms like Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, Pinterest, Canva, Later or similar scheduling tools
• Deep understanding of platform algorithms, posting best practices, and content trends
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• NYC-based — must be available for occasional in-person shoots or meetings
• Self-starter with excellent time management and a collaborative mindset
Nice to Have:
• Experience working with service-based businesses
• Basic knowledge of SEO, email marketing, or paid social media campaigns
• Photography or video editing skills (Edits, InShot, Adobe Express, etc.)
Contract Details:
• 1099 contractor role
• Flexible hours depending on workload and project timelines
