Overview:
We’re looking for an experienced developer to work on scientific software used for geophysical data analysis and visualization. You’ll work closely with geoscientists and engineers to build high-performance applications, both on-prem and in the cloud.
Key Responsibilities:
- Build software for analyzing seismic and geological data
- Design and maintain both desktop and cloud-based applications
- Optimize algorithms for performance
- Present designs and take part in architecture reviews
- Ensure high-quality code (testing, reviews, CI/CD)
- Support users and resolve technical issues
- Mentor junior developers
- Work in Agile/Scrum teams
Requirements:
- 5+ years in scientific or geophysical software development
- 8+ years with Java and C++
- Strong problem-solving and planning skills
Experience with:
- Java, C++, Python
- GitLab, Eclipse, VS Code, CI/CD
- Docker, Kubernetes
- AWS or Azure
- Microservices (Spring Boot, Quarkus)
- Java 2D / OpenGL for graphics
- Geophysical tools/formats (e.g., SEG-Y, OpenVDS, Petrel, Kingdom)
