Position Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled Scientific Programmer to support the development and integration of scientific algorithms and sensor data processing within a classified research program. The successful candidate will focus on supporting remote sensing applications and assisting in the seamless integration of algorithms into both research and operational workflows.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and maintain robust codebases for sensor calibration and signal processing applications.
Translate complex scientific algorithms into efficient, high-performance, and scalable code modules.
Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams of scientists to prototype, deploy, and optimize tools for data visualization and processing.
Ensure that code is well-documented, thoroughly tested, and version-controlled to meet high standards of software quality.
Provide ongoing support for the integration of software into field test and data collection environments.
Troubleshoot and resolve software issues and implement necessary improvements.
Required Qualifications:
U.S. Citizenship required; SECRET security clearance or eligibility is mandatory.
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a Physical Science-related discipline.
Minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience in scientific software development.
Strong proficiency in programming languages such as FORTRAN, Python, C/C++, MATLAB, or IDL.
Previous experience with remote sensing technologies or large datasets is highly desirable.
Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
Desired Qualifications:
Experience in sensor data calibration and signal processing algorithms.
Familiarity with scientific visualization and data analysis tools.
Experience working in a classified research environment or with sensitive data.
Remote work is acceptable with availability for classified or secure site work as needed.
