The Role

We are seeking a Senior Software Engineer with expertise in building B2B marketplaces and e-commerce platforms, coupled with a strong fullstack skillset. You will play a key role in developing, scaling, and optimizing our marketplace infrastructure, working across the frontend, backend, and platform layers to create seamless merchant and supplier experiences. DRINKS is home-based in Los Angeles; however, we are a remote-first company.

What You’ll do

Develop and scale fullstack solutions for our B2B marketplace, ensuring high performance and reliability.
Build seamless frontend experiences using modern frameworks while designing and optimizing backend services and APIs.
Enhance marketplace functionality, optimizing search, discovery, order management, and fulfillment workflows.
Collaborate with product, platform, and data teams to create user-friendly, high-converting e-commerce experiences.
Implement AI-powered automation and analytics, leveraging data insights to improve marketplace efficiency.
Ensure platform maintainability and security, applying DevOps best practices, CI/CD, and observability.
Mentor engineers, fostering a culture of technical excellence and collaboration.

About You

8+ years of software engineering experience, with a focus on fullstack development in e-commerce or marketplace platforms.
Proven experience building and scaling B2B marketplaces, supply chain platforms, or multi-sided commerce ecosystems.
Expertise in frontend frameworks (React, Hotwire, or similar) and backend development (REST/GraphQL APIs, SOA, database optimization).
Strong cloud-native development skills (AWS, GCP, or Azure) with experience in containerized and serverless environments.
Proficiency in modern programming languages (Ruby, TypeScript, Python, or similar).
Experience integrating third-party SaaS solutions (ERP, fulfillment, analytics, payment gateways, etc.) with a data-driven mindset for analytics and performance optimization.
Startup mentality—thrives in ambiguity, takes ownership, and moves fast.

Nice to Have’s

Experience in highly regulated industries, such as alcohol, cannabis, fintech, or healthcare.
Proficiency in Shopify app development, including experience with the Shopify API, Polaris design system, App Store, and custom storefront solutions.
Experience with AI-driven commerce solutions, such as personalized recommendations or dynamic pricing.
Deep understanding of B2B purchasing flows, including invoicing, procurement, and contract-based transactions.
Experience working with headless commerce architectures and API-first e-commerce platforms.
Exposure to marketplace governance, compliance, and fraud prevention strategies.

Primary Location: Los Angeles, CA

Primary Location Compensation Range: $140,000.00 - $200,000.00/yr.
