Senior Software Engineer (MTS, Core Open-Source Contributor)
About DreamLayer AI
DreamLayer is an open-source Stable Diffusion UI that feels as familiar as Automatic1111 but runs on a modern React front-end with a Python and ComfyUI back-end. Our public code release is scheduled for 1 July 2025.
We’re looking for a full-time Software Engineer who is passionate about GenAI and cares deeply about open-source. You’ll collaborate closely with the founding team to build infrastructure, backend systems, and developer tools that power the next generation of AI creativity.
You’ll take ownership of key features, help scale our infrastructure, and actively contribute to our open-source codebase.
Responsibilities
- Design, build, and ship our DreamLayer Stable Diffusion plug-in and extension ecosystem
- Build and optimize ComfyUI graphs for new model presets
- Extend our Flask and FastAPI back-end (job queuing, model hot-reload, telemetry)
- Package one-click desktop builds (Electron/Tauri) and Docker images for cloud GPUs
- Define IaC and CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions → AWS / GCP / Azure)
- Profile and accelerate inference (CUDA, TensorRT or vLLM where appropriate)
- Develop and integrate APIs to enhance application functionality and connectivity.
- Review community PRs, write RFCs, and mentor first-time OSS contributors
Requirements
- 3+ years of experience with Python (FastAPI, Flask, asyncio, PyTest)
- 3+ years working with React + TypeScript (hooks, state management, Tailwind or similar)
- Deep familiarity with Stable Diffusion ecosystem (ComfyUI, A1111, or Forge UI) including custom nodes, LoRA, and ControlNet
- Strong hands-on experience with Docker, GitHub Actions, and cloud platforms like AWS, GCP, or Azure (GPU instances, ECS, Cloud Run, AKS, etc.)
- Production experience shipping GenAI or ML inference workloads at scale
Nice to Have
- Familiarity with Kubernetes GPU autoscaling or job scheduling
- Background running multi-cloud or hybrid GPU fleets
- Experience with observability tools like Prometheus, Grafana, or Loki
- History of OSS contribution, RFCs, or community moderation
- You worked at a fast-paced, high-growth tech startup before or are extremely excited about being in one.
