Are you a seasoned backend developer who thrives on solving complex problems and shaping scalable architectures? We're looking for a Senior Backend Engineer to play a key role in evolving our cutting-edge web streaming platform—enhancing core features, driving our cloud migration to AWS, and mentoring a collaborative, agile team.

What You Will Do

Architect, develop, and maintain core backend services using PHP (MVC frameworks) and Node.js
Design and implement scalable, secure RESTful APIs
Lead and contribute to our AWS cloud migration, helping us modernize the platform
Collaborate cross-functionally with developers, product managers, and our Canadian partner team
Act as a technical mentor, guiding best practices and fostering engineering excellence
Continuously improve platform performance, scalability, and reliability
Contribute to code reviews, architecture decisions, and process improvement initiatives

What You Bring

5+ years of experience in backend development, including PHP and Node.js
Strong hands-on experience with AWS (e.g., EC2, S3, RDS, Lambda)
Solid knowledge of SQL databases and performance optimization
Experience with MVC frameworks (e.g., Laravel, Symfony)
Proven ability to architect complex systems and lead technical projects
Deep understanding of REST API design and secure integration patterns
Familiarity with source control tools (e.g., Git, GitHub/GitLab)
A collaborative mindset with a knack for building trust-based team relationships
Natural curiosity and a resourceful, problem-solving attitude
Excellent spoken and written English—you'll work daily with our Canadian counterparts
