We’re working with a globally recognised digital & technology-led organisation undergoing a major data transformation programme across its European operations.

This is not a pure research role.

You’ll be joining a high-performing data function where the focus is on building and deploying real-world decision models that directly impact commercial performance across digital and eCommerce channels.

The Project

This programme is centred around unlocking value from large-scale digital, retail, and media datasets, including complex third-party and privacy-safe data environments.

You’ll be responsible for taking new and existing data sources and turning them into:

• Scalable decision models
• Actionable insights for commercial teams
• Logic that powers internal tools and workflows

The work sits at the intersection of data science, product, and commercial strategy — with a strong emphasis on impact and adoption, not just experimentation.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Researching and onboarding new data sources (APIs, third-party datasets, clean-room environments)
• Translating business problems into clear modelling and analytical approaches
• Building decision models, forecasting frameworks, and recommendation logic
• Applying ML/AI techniques where appropriate, with a focus on explainability and measurable outcomes
• Working closely with BI and data engineering teams to productionise models
• Supporting client-facing discussions, explaining methodology and driving adoption
• Contributing to commercial work, including proposals and case studies

What They’re Looking For

• 8+ years in Data Science / Applied ML / Advanced Analytics
• Strong Python for modelling and analysis (production-quality code)
• Advanced SQL and experience working with large, complex datasets
• Solid grounding in statistics, experimentation, and measurement
• Experience building models that are actually deployed and used, not just prototypes
• MLOps exposure (deployment, monitoring, retraining strategies)
• Comfortable working cross-functionally with data engineering and BI teams
• Strong communication, able to explain complex ideas clearly to non-technical stakeholders

Nice to have:

• Experience in digital, eCommerce, retail media, or marketplace environments
• Exposure to privacy-safe / clean-room data environments
• Cloud data stack experience
• NLP / GenAI applied to commercial use cases
