Controls Engineer - FC

Looking for a Controls Engineer to join our growing Waukegan team! The ideal candidate will have 3-7 years experience in electrical control system design and programming. This role does offer hybrid opportunities!

All candidates must be legally authorized to work in the US and will not require current or future sponsorship.

Responsibilities:

• Plans, directs, performs, coordinates and reviews technical tasks associated with electrical control systems design. This includes control panel layouts, control panel schematics, PLC and HMI programming, bill of material development, and material releases.
• Contributes to the development of project schedules for engineering activities. Ensures that individual contributions meet deliverables for contract and proposal requirements in scope, schedule and budget.
• Provides and coordinates engineering estimates to support proposal activities within established guidelines.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, or Electrical Engineering Technology.
• 3 to 7 years of experience in electrical control systems design and programming.
• Familiarity with material handling or water treatment processes a plus.

Characteristics and Skills:

• AutoCAD proficiency required. AutoCAD Electrical proficiency a plus.
• RSLOGIX / FactoryTalk Proficiency Preferred. Modicon, AVEVA or Ignition experience a plus.
• Proficiency with software testing and controls commissioning.
• Proficiency with common industrial networking platforms and protocols.
• Proficiency with industrial motor control and variable frequency drive applications.
• Familiarity with NEC (NFPA 70) and UL 508A.
