Senior Software QA Engineer (SDET)

We're looking for a Senior Software QA Engineer who treats quality as an engineering discipline. This role is ideal for someone who started their career as a software engineer and transitioned into QA - you understand how software is actually built, you can read application code with confidence, and you bring a developer's mindset to designing robust, maintainable test automation.

You'll own quality across a modern stack - .NET backend, ReactJS/Next.js frontend, and iOS/Android apps - combining hands-on Playwright automation with sharp exploratory and manual testing. Because you've been on the other side, you don't just report what broke; you can often pinpoint where and hypothesize why, which makes you a faster, more valuable partner to the development team.

What Sets You Apart

• Prior professional experience as a software engineer/developer before moving into QA is strongly preferred. You've shipped production code, worked with version control and code reviews, and understand the architecture behind the features you test.

Required Qualifications:

• 2+ years of experience in QA testing for web and mobile applications
• Proven experience in Playwright automation
• Strong background in manual testing, including exploratory and edge case testing
• Experience testing applications with .NET backend and Next.js frontend
• Proficiency in testing REST APIs and validating responses
• Good knowledge of SQL for data verification
• Familiarity with Jira, Postman, Swagger, or similar tools
• Experience testing iOS and Android apps
• Understanding of responsive and accessible design testing
• Strong communication and documentation skills

Key Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and maintain automated test scripts using Playwright
• Execute and maintain manual test cases for regression, exploratory, and UI testing
• Collaborate with developers and product owners to understand feature requirements and edge cases
• Test both frontend and backend features thoroughly, including APIs and databases
• Perform cross-browser and responsive testing to ensure consistent UX
• Validate accessibility and usability across platforms
• Conduct API testing using Postman or Swagger and validate data using SQL
• Log and track bugs in Jira, with detailed reproduction steps and impact analysis
• Contribute to test strategy, improve test coverage, and help evolve QA best practices
• Support performance and reliability testing efforts

Nice-to-Have:

• Exposure to BDD & SpecFlow
• Experience with messaging or communication platforms
• Familiarity with real-time messaging frameworks (e.g., SignalR, WebSockets)
• Knowledge of performance testing tools
• Experience with cloud-based CI/CD workflows
• Experience with AI-based productivity tools
