Role Description

We are building a curated network of mid and senior level Backend Software Engineers (NodeJS or Ruby on Rails) based in the Philippines who can be activated for client projects on short notice. This is a contract based remote role designed for developers who want flexible, ongoing project opportunities.

As part of our engineering directory, you will be screened once and added to our on call roster. When new projects close, we match you to the work that best fits your skill set and availability. This allows you to receive consistent opportunities without the need to apply for each engagement

The primary responsibilities include developing, maintaining, and optimizing backend systems, implementing and managing APIs, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver scalable and efficient software solutions. The candidate will work closely with stakeholders to ensure project goals are met, troubleshooting and improving code efficiency as needed.

Must Have Qualifications

• 4+ years of experience shipping production-level software.
• Strong foundation in Node.js and/or Ruby.
• Proficiency in Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) principles and practical implementation
• Solid foundation in Computer Science concepts and problem-solving
• A deep commitment to test-driven development, operational excellence, and robust software practices
• Experience with and understanding of: PostgreSQL

Nice-to-Have

• Experience integrating with LLM or agent-based systems
• Experience contributing to 0-to-1 products (building from scratch).
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field is preferred

Salary

• ₱75,000-100,000/month depending on experience

• Actual pay may vary based on experience, skill set and availability.
• As part of our on-call / contract-pool model, compensation may adjust depending on whether work is full-time, part-time or per-project / contract basis.
