Key Tasks for a Network Engineer:
• Design build and support complex WAN networks based on Cisco , Juniper and Fortinet components (WSA)
• Development of a network and migration concept from traditional network to a fabric based network structure
• Perform project work from concept to implementation in WAN environments based on dynamic routing protocols
• Complex analysis of large networks
• Security engineering and consulting
• Development and set-up of a Cloud network design
• Planning and choice of the network components needed (e.g. in the context of projects)
• Solicitation of quotations
• Set-up, maintenance and configuration of the individual components
• A good knowledge of authentication and logging architecture as well as DNS
• Excellent knowledge of routing and implementation of routing protocols
• Set-up and extraction of customers dedicated and shared network areas
• QOS and bandwidth engineering
• Applications for MPLS extractions at TCO
• Support to the local DPS units
• Documentation and allocation of subnetwoks or individual IPv4 and IPv6 addresses
• Provision of traffic management
Required Skills for a Network Engineer:
• EDP technology degree (university or comparable) or comparable degree in natural sciences
• Experience of administration of huge WAN Networks and of the set-up of routers, switches and firewalls in combination with Loadbalancers
• Reliable knowledge of Farbic design and structure
• CISCO CCIE or comparable certificates
• Experience of project support
• Specialised knowledge of Cisco and Juniper (certificates on training/courses are obligatory)
• Reliable knowledge of Loadbalancers, Firewalls Radius, Tacacs and LDAP
• Experience of Traffic Shaping solutions
• Experience of configuration, maintenance, updates and security management of network and server components
• Excellent and state-of-the-art knowledge and practical knowledge of UNIX/LINUX operating system
• Experience of issuing tenders for hardware and software procurement
• Cooperative, task-orientated and matter-of -fact way of working
• Practical experience and planning experience of MPLS/VPLS
• English language skills in reading and writing, German is advantage
• Basic knowledge of DWDM
