The Field Marketing Specialist is responsible for the implementation and execution of Denny’s marketing strategy at the local level within a defined geographic territory. The position is accountable for the creation of local marketing strategies, plans and tactics that deliver results of identified sales and traffic goals.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS (Key Responsibilities)
- Provides clear communication of national and local marketing initiatives to franchisees, designated operators and restaurants within geographic territory.
- Creates and implements local marketing strategies and plans that extend our national marketing and media calendar.
- Creates and implements local marketing strategies and plans that leverage identified strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats that deliver positive sales & traffic results.
- Assists franchisees, designated operators and restaurant managers with local marketing materials including creative requests, merchandising materials, media and digital assets as well as other marketing support materials.
- Leverages available data, key insights and creative thinking to build the brand at the local level.
- Identifies, initiates, and manages dialogue and partners with local cross-promotional business opportunities.
- Stewards trusted business relationships with franchisees, internal cross-functional teams and outside agency peers.
- Implements existing and/or creates new marketing programs and executes across opportunity areas.
- Partners with finance to develop analysis of LSM programs and uses any learnings to guide future programs.
- Aggregates and shares competitive intelligence related to product, promotion and price.
- Partners closely with internal marketing department and cross-functional support teams to execute local marketing plans not limited to localized print programs, remodels/new store opening plans, local eblasts (CRM), social/digital platforms and other marketing related duties as assigned.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
EDUCATION
Bachelor’s degree in Marketing or related field.
EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
2 - 4 years of marketing experience in restaurant or retail industry at the corporate or agency level.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to make effective presentations to solicit cooperation and support.
- Computer skills including PowerPoint, Excel, and Word.
- Sound strategic and critical thinking.
- Ability to understand data to formulate recommendations to achieve goals.
- Ability to work with Media Buying Agency and learn the Media Buying Process.
- Ability to work with teams and collaborate.
- Time management and multitasking skills with the ability to prioritize tasks.
- Ability to meet typical overnight travel requirement of 20-30%, dependent upon home office location, or maximum total travel up to 50% inclusive of day and overnight trips.
