Role Description
Defense Unicorns seeks a Senior Software Engineer to join our Fleet team. You’ll collaborate closely with product managers, designers, and end users to ensure we’re building the right solutions—and building them well.
The team builds and operates a capability of the UDS platform, edge and fleet management. The team enables Airmen, Guardians, Soldiers, Sailors, and Marines to easily view, manage, and deploy systems across remote and distributed environments. For edge node management, the team delivers a solution purpose-built for Denied, Disrupted, Intermittent, and Limited (DDIL) and fully airgapped environments, supporting large, distributed sets of Kubernetes clusters and edge systems across the battlespace and classification levels. The Fleet team values usability, reliability, and operational impact, taking ownership of complex problems to ensure mission operators can manage systems effectively in connected, semi-connected, and disconnected environments.
As a Senior Software Engineer, you’ll operate at the intersection of product development and technical execution. You’ll lead the technical design, implementation, and deployment of features and systems that have direct impact on mission outcomes.

Einstein defined insanity as repeating the same thing expecting different results. Henry Ford said failures were merely an opportunity to intelligently begin again. We inform our operations by experiments, applying a build-measure-learn feedback loop in all we do.
