R Shiny Data Scientist Contractor
The R Shiny Data Scientist will be responsible for supporting data visualization and review activities for ongoing clinical programs. This role will contribute to an innovative biopharmaceutical company developing a new class of RNA-based therapeutics.
Responsibilities
Design and deliver validated, reproducible visualizations and analyses using open-source tools (e.g., R, R Shiny, Spotfire) to support clinical trial design, data review, go/no-go decision-making, and external communications or publications.
Develop and maintain R code, including standardized functions, packages, Markdown, and dashboard frameworks (e.g., Flexdashboard, R Shiny) within existing and new analytical pipelines, incorporating process automation where appropriate.
Enhance or customize clinical data displays to address study-specific requirements, such as tracking data quality, completeness, and trends.
Build and manage automated data pipelines to streamline data processing workflows.
Oversee and maintain user permissions and access for interactive data visualization platforms.
Integrate and analyze data across multiple clinical studies or relevant data sources to support cross-program insights and strategic decision-making.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a quantitative or data science–related discipline (e.g., statistics, mathematics, epidemiology, computer science, bioinformatics).
At least 5 years of experience in the biotechnology or pharmaceutical industry.
Strong proficiency in R programming, with hands-on experience developing data visualization applications using R Shiny or similar dashboarding tools.
Familiarity with SAS programming; routine SAS coding is not required for this role.
Working knowledge of CDISC data standards and experience in validated or regulated data environments is highly preferred.
