Staff Software Engineer

Role purpose

• You support architecture governance and system design quality under the direction of a senior solution architect. You help teams make sound architecture decisions, follow approved patterns, and complete required reviews and approvals. You focus on guidance, documentation, and compliance.

Reporting and direction

• You work under the direction of a senior solution architect.
• You receive assignments, priorities, and architectural guidance from them.
• You support decision making but do not own final architecture decisions.

Core responsibilities

• Support engineering teams by helping them design systems with align with approved architecture standards and patterns.
• Help teams and the solution architect prepare materials required for internal architecture, security, and risk reviews.
• Coordinate with internal approval bodies to move systems and technologies through required governance steps.
• Support evaluation and approval of new technologies and platforms.
• Maintain accurate architecture documentation, system inventories, and configuration records.
• Maintain configuration management data for assigned systems and integrations.
• Verify alignment with security, privacy, and data protection standards.
• Track required attributes, reviews, and approvals in ServiceNow.
• Support technology vendor evaluations from an architecture and integration perspective.

• Experience supporting enterprise architecture or technology governance practices.
• Experience with AWS and Azure offerings, architecture patterns, and standards.
• Experience with content, marketing, and customer data platforms.
• Experience supporting technology evaluations and selection efforts.
• Strong documentation habits and attention to system records.
• Ability to work from defined direction and provide clear written feedback.
