Job Description

We are looking for an experienced UX/UI Designer to help redesign a legacy web application that was originally built 20 years ago. The goal is to modernize the user experience, establish a new design system, and deliver a clean, consistent, and intuitive product that works across desktop, tablet, and mobile devices (PWA-friendly).

This is a consulting/freelance role ideal for someone with a strong background in responsive design, accessibility (508/WCAG), and legacy-to-modern UX transformation. The end product may be used in a government environment, so accessibility and clarity are essential.

What You'll Do

• Define UI/UX Design Guidelines
• Establish brand-consistent visual standards (color palette, typography, spacing, components, etc.).
• Design a Responsive Web App UI.
• Create modern, consistent, and user-friendly interfaces for desktop, tablet, and mobile (PWA layout).
• Ensure 508 Accessibility Compliance.
• Designs must meet Section 508 / WCAG accessibility standards.
• Create Intuitive User Flows.
• Design flows that require no user training—the UI should speak for itself.
• Collaborate with Product Owner & Dev Team.
• Translate goals and technical realities into usable design solutions.
• Deliver Clickable Prototypes.
• Use Figma, XD, or similar to deliver detailed wireframes, mockups, and interaction flows.
