Experiential Marketing Manager
We are seeking an Experiential Marketing Manager to lead and manage consumer and partner events for the Americas (US and LATAM). This role will work closely with the Americas marketing, sales and business unit teams, Global Events and Experiential team, and external agencies, to develop, manage, and implement an events strategy and plan for the Americas. As an events expert for the Americas, this individual will report to the Sr. Director of Americas Marketing in addition to being guided and supported by Global Event Marketing leadership.
A successful candidate will be an organized, self-starter with 8+ years of planning and implementing both B2C and B2B experiential programs that drive business impact. This position is an ideal role for someone who enjoys developing and delivering an experiential strategy, and ensuring program tactics, components, and details map to it.Successful candidates will be resourceful, solution-oriented, naturally take ownership and demonstrate responsibility for their assigned programs in full and be skilled at multi-tasking and prioritization in a fast-paced environment with close attention to detail. The right person must have a team mentality, leading cross-functional teams and agencies with empathy while balancing complex program deliverables on tight timelines and budgets.
Duties:
- Develop a US and LATAM (with focus on Brazil & Mexico) experiential marketing strategy, plan, and ideas that bring the magic to life in ways that excite, inspire, and make our Vision and Atmos real for consumers and partners (content creators, streaming partners, consumer electronics brands, cinemas, auto manufacturers) turning them into fans.
- Deliver a seamless guest experience: oversee onsite logistics including venue coordination, experience builds, staffing, badging, and meeting scheduling as needed.
- Work with cross-functional digital, social, CRM and creative marketing teams and agencies to deliver smooth on-site and digital experience, traffic driving activities, guest experience tracking, lead-generation capture, post event survey, and CRM.
- Program management: own deliverables tracking and follow-up, hold stakeholders accountable, run internal team check-ins and external vendor/agency meetings, arrange onsite logistics including catering, hotel blocks, badging, and customer meeting registration
- Own the following types of experiential programs end-to-end: oversee internal teams, contractors, and agencies to deliver events, serve as the main company contact for program issues, ensure efficient onsite execution, and provide post-event reports.
- Consumer Experiential Activations:
- Always on, Home Experience zones in Best Buy (Grapevine, TX & Mission Viejo, CA)
- Ad hoc, pop-up experiences at our Cinema @ AMC locations, and Auto Dealerships, and events like SXSW, Coachella, etc.
- B2B Experiential Activations / Events:
- Partner roadshow
- Retail Training Events
- Our experience at Industry Events in LATAM: AES (Mexico) and SET (Brasil)
- Internal & External Event Communications: Execute effective event communications and briefings for Employees and key partners designated by partner marketing.
- Budget ownership: identify accurate program estimates, negotiate contracts, track actuals, and work with Finance, Procurement, Legal, and AP to report, balance, and close sizable contracts
- Onsite management of all owned event activities, travel will be required
- Program Reporting: Deliver comprehensive post event report with link to business impact.
Skills, Experience & Qualifications Required:
- A minimum of 7+ years of in-house or agency experience in the consumer experiential and pop-up retail industry – working for experience driven, high-tech or entertainment brands preferred.
- Managing consumer or experiential events in Mexico and Brasil is a plus!
- Bi-lingual in English AND Spanish or Portuguese is a plus!
- Proven success leading and managing consumer experiential/pop up activations and roadshows, trade shows experiences or other demo/tech-focused physical spaces.
- Deep project management experience - identifying dependencies and timelines, tracking and reporting progress, ensuring team alignment, escalating risk, and encouraging on-time action in a kind but effective manner
- Comfort with vendor and cross-functional team oversight
- Experience with experiential tech - immersive, interactive, A/V, digital platforms, RSVP and planning tools, smart badging, etc
- Must have a no-ego, hands-on approach - you pitch in when and where needed, setting the tone for the rest of the team
- Exhibits professionalism and composure in stressful situations and can deescalate situations when needed
- Willingness to be versatile and flexible in a rapidly changing work environment
- Must be articulate with excellent verbal and written communication skills, skilled at interacting with team members from senior-level executives to onsite support staff
- Excellent computer skills; highly experienced with production/work platforms like Microsoft Suite (Outlook, PowerPoint, Word and Excel), SmartSheet, Box, and Airtable
- Requires candidate to be located within or willing to relocate to Dallas, Los Angeles, or San Francisco
- Requires substantial travel: to HQ in San Francisco, to Dallas/Ft. Worth and Orange County, CA for Home Experience zones, partner HQs for event locations as needed.
Compensation: $60 - $72.46 per hour
