Participates as technical expert in design, development, coding, testing, and/or debugging of major new software and/or significant enhancements to existing software which may include applications over multiple platforms. Guides and advises junior staff. Can be tasked with taking the technical lead on projects and working closely with product owners to deliver on features.

Provides application development leadership for new and existing software applications.
Partners with users and product owners in designing features.
Provides recommendation on how to enhance system for future growth.
Advises/recommends project and activities as related to system/architectural direction and strategy.
Creates and maintains code and documentation.
Delivers system presentations and overviews.
Evaluates feature/upgrade/change requests and recommends action.
Research new technologies to enhance current system.
Provides technical leadership on projects.
Acts as subject matter expert in appropriate technologies and business domains.
Designs, codes, tests, debugs and documents all phases of applications development.
Codes software applications adhering to designs supporting internal business requirements or external user.
Troubleshoots complex, difficult issues.
Determines project feasibility and integration plans with current systems.
Review code written by others and hold fellow engineers to code quality standards.
Helps in developing and improving operational efficiency of the team.

Provide Tier 2/3 Production Support for tools and applications developed

Qualifications

Experience & education:

Successful completion of a full 4-year course of study in an accredited college or university leading to a bachelor's or higher degree; OR appropriate combination of education and experience.
5+ years relevant experience required.
Software development roles require development using specific code and platforms as indicated in a job posting.
