We're building Curo — your AI Learning Buddy.
At Curo, we believe that learning should be simple, structured, and consistent. But for most self-learners, it’s anything but that. You start motivated, but then...
- You're hit with information overload — too many videos, articles, and paid courses.
- You’re unsure where to begin, or worse — stuck hopping from tab to tab.
- Even if you find great resources, staying consistent feels like a daily battle.
You're not alone — our research shows:
- 30% of learners drop off due to overwhelming content and decision fatigue.
- 51% struggle with consistency, despite having the right resources.
So we’re building Curo, an AI-powered learning companion that:
- Curates relevant learning resources from across the internet.
- Helps you start right and stay on track.
- Brings structure, progress tracking, and just enough nudges to keep going.
We’re early, but the vision is big: reimagine how humans learn on the internet.
And now, we’re looking for someone to build this with us.
What You'll Be Doing
As a Founding Engineer, you're not just writing code — you're helping shape the product, culture, and direction of Curo. You’ll:
- Design and build core systems across the stack — from crawling and ranking content to creating delightful front-end experiences.
- Architect our AI-first search and recommendation engine.
- Work closely with the founders to prototype fast, learn faster, and iterate.
- Own technical decisions, from choosing the right stack to scaling early infra.
- Help set up engineering best practices and build the early tech team.
What We’re Looking For
You don’t need to check every box, but ideally:
- 3–6 years of experience building software (startups preferred).
- Comfortable working across the stack (Node.js, Typescript, Python, Postgres, etc.).
- You’ve played with or are curious about AI tools (LLMs, embeddings, LangChain, etc.).
- You love solving real user problems, not just shipping features.
- You can thrive in ambiguity and love taking ownership from 0 to 1.
Bonus Points For:
- Building or contributing to LLM-based search or recommendation systems.
- Experience with vector databases (like Pinecone, Weaviate, or ChromaDB).
- Built tools for learning, productivity, or browser extensions.
- You've tried learning something online and felt stuck — you get the problem deeply.
Why Join Now?
- Be a founder: This isn’t just an engineering role. You're part of the core team shaping everything.
- Meaningful equity: We’re early. You’ll own a real part of what we’re building.
- Solve a personal problem: If you've ever felt lost while trying to learn something online — you're one of us.
- Speed & Autonomy: No bureaucracy. Just you, us, and the mission.
