We are a dynamic team that is revolutionizing home medical testing with AI-driven disease prediction. This individual will play a pivotal role in disease classification models that impact patient care. The ideal candidate is able to build deep learning computer vision models, and has a passion for driving research that makes a difference. We are seeking availability for a minimum of 10 hours per week. There is an opportunity to convert to a full time role.
Key Responsibilities
- Build, train new deep learning models and refine/enhance existing machine learning models to identify and analyze various disease states, ensuring high accuracy and reliability for practical application.
- Independently manage the full lifecycle of AI projects, including data collection, augmentation, model training, evaluation, deployment, and continuous monitoring.
- Develop innovative strategies and apply novel computer vision or deep learning techniques to overcome challenges associated with limited datasets and leverage pre-existing open-source models and academic research to achieve production-grade model quality.
- Conduct algorithm evaluations and validations rigorously to ensure model performance and consistency in real-world scenarios.
- Effectively communicate complex data insights and model trade-offs to stakeholders of diverse technical backgrounds.
- Commit a minimum of 10 hours per week in a self-guided capacity, demonstrating initiative and ownership of the machine learning deliverables.
Qualifications
- MS or PhD in Computer Science or experience in a related field with a focus on computer vision and machine learning.
- 2+ years of experience in designing, training, and deploying convolutional neural networks (CNNs) for various computer vision tasks.
- Hands on coding experience in deep learning frameworks such as PyTorch/TensorFlow, coupled with an understanding of classic image processing algorithms. Strong coding skills in Python and its data manipulation and visualization libraries, including Matplotlib, NumPy, and Pandas.
- Familiarity with Enterprise cloud platforms(Azure ML, SageMaker, Vertex AI)
- Strong communication skills to effectively articulate technical concepts to diverse audiences, including those without technical expertise.
Preferred
- Candidates with publications related to medical imaging or deep learning
- Academic research background in healthcare
- Successfully delivered vision projects from ideation to deployment in a production environment
- Hands on experience with Azure ML
