Release Train Engineer (RTE) – Healthcare
Overview
We are seeking a Release Train Engineer (RTE) to lead Agile Release Trains (ARTs) delivering complex, high-impact healthcare technology initiatives. This role will drive execution, alignment, and continuous improvement across cross-functional teams, ensuring the successful delivery of scalable solutions that support clinical, regulatory, and operational healthcare needs.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and facilitate Agile Release Train ceremonies, including PI Planning, Scrum of Scrums, System Demos, and Inspect & Adapt sessions
Coordinate delivery across multiple Agile teams, ensuring alignment with business priorities, dependencies, and timelines
Partner with Product Management, Architecture, and Business Stakeholders to translate healthcare requirements into actionable delivery plans
Drive continuous improvement of Agile processes, team performance, and release predictability
Identify, escalate, and remove risks, impediments, and cross-team dependencies
Ensure adherence to healthcare regulatory standards, including HIPAA, data privacy, and compliance requirements
Track and report on program progress, KPIs, and delivery health to leadership and stakeholders
Support release management activities, including coordination of deployments, validation, and post-release monitoring
Foster a culture of collaboration, transparency, accountability, and continuous learning across teams
Required Qualifications
5–8+ years of experience in Agile delivery roles, including Scrum Master, Program Manager, or Release Train Engineer
Hands-on experience leading SAFe Agile Release Trains or similar scaled Agile frameworks
Proven experience delivering technology solutions within healthcare environments (payer, provider, pharma, or health tech)
Strong understanding of healthcare systems, workflows, and regulatory considerations
Experience managing complex dependencies across multiple teams and systems
Strong facilitation, communication, and stakeholder management skills
Ability to operate in fast-paced environments while maintaining focus on quality and compliance
Preferred Qualifications
SAFe RTE certification or equivalent Agile certification
Experience with healthcare platforms such as EHR/EMR systems (Epic, Cerner), claims processing, or patient engagement platforms
Familiarity with cloud-based architectures (AWS, Azure, or GCP) and modern DevOps practices
Experience working with data-driven healthcare initiatives, including analytics, interoperability (FHIR/HL7), or AI-enabled solutions
