Our client is seeking a Senior Product Manager with a strong data science background to lead the development of internal and external data products. This role is ideal for a senior-level data scientist who has transitioned into product management. While coding is not part of day-to-day responsibilities, deep hands-on experience with Python, SQL, and data engineering workflows is required to effectively guide technical teams and communicate with stakeholders.
You’ll play a key role in building products that leverage Medicare, claims, and healthcare provider data to drive business insights and operational improvements. This position requires exceptional communication, organizational, and leadership skills, with the ability to translate complex technical concepts into actionable product strategies.
Key Responsibilities
- Define and drive product strategy for data-driven solutions, ensuring alignment with business goals.
- Partner with engineering, data science, and business stakeholders to build and enhance internal and external data products.
- Leverage prior hands-on expertise in Python and SQL to evaluate feasibility, challenge assumptions, and guide technical discussions.
- Prioritize features, write product requirements, and manage the product backlog.
- Own the roadmap for data products that utilize Medicare and claims data, ensuring compliance and accuracy.
- Communicate effectively with technical and non-technical audiences, including executives, clients, and cross-functional teams.
- Establish KPIs and success metrics to track product performance and adoption.
- Ensure that all products comply with industry standards, regulations, and security requirements.
Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in data science or analytics, with a strong foundation in Python and SQL.
- 2+ years of product management experience, ideally in healthcare or data-heavy environments.
- Deep knowledge of claims, Medicare, or provider data and healthcare data ecosystems.
- Proven ability to translate technical concepts into business-friendly product strategies.
- Strong organizational, leadership, and communication skills.
- Experience working with cross-functional teams (engineering, analytics, compliance, operations).
- Familiarity with data governance, HIPAA compliance, and healthcare data security practices is a plus.
