About the Role
We are seeking a skilled Firewall Engineer with 4–6 years of hands-on experience in network security engineering and a strong focus on Palo Alto Networks technologies. This mid-level role is ideal for a practitioner who thrives in a technical, hands-on environment and is ready to take ownership of firewall configuration, policy optimization, and network protection within a dynamic enterprise setting.
Key Responsibilities
- Configure, manage, and maintain Palo Alto Networks firewalls (PA-Series, VM-Series) across production and cloud environments.
- Utilize Panorama for centralized management, policy enforcement, and log analysis.
- Implement and support VPNs, NAT rules, App-ID, User-ID, and threat prevention features.
- Perform policy reviews, rulebase audits, and ensure configurations meet security and compliance standards.
- Troubleshoot and resolve network and firewall-related issues efficiently.
- Participate in firewall lifecycle management, including patching, upgrades, and migrations.
- Collaborate with network and security operations teams to support secure connectivity and incident response.
- Document configurations, topology changes, and standard operating procedures.
Required Qualifications
- 4–6 years of experience in network security engineering or firewall administration.
- Strong working knowledge of Palo Alto Networks firewalls and Panorama management.
- Hands-on experience with VPNs, NAT, routing (BGP/OSPF), and access control policies.
- Palo Alto Networks Certified Network Security Professional (PCNSP) certification required.
- Solid understanding of zero trust best practices.
- Proficiency with network troubleshooting tools (packet capture, traffic analysis, etc.).
- Solid understanding of TCP/IP fundamentals and security best practices.
- Experience working in environments with compliance frameworks (e.g., NIST, ISO, PCI).
Preferred Skills
- Familiarity with GlobalProtect, WildFire, and URL Filtering configurations.
- Familiarity with Prisma Access
- Exposure to cloud network security (AWS, Azure, or GCP firewalls).
- Basic scripting or automation knowledge (Python, Ansible, API integrations).
- Strong analytical and communication skills, with a focus on detail and accuracy.
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in: Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or related field, or equivalent experience.

Pay: $105,000.00 - $113,500.00 per year
