We're looking for a skilled Product Designer to join our Enterprise Infrastructure & Security Product & Design team. In this role, you'll contribute to shaping the user experience of our internal data engineering and Data Operations products, driving business outcomes, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality designs.
Candidates should have a strong understanding of data infrastructure concepts, such as data pipelines, data ingestion, and data processing. Experience in designing products within the data engineering or Data Operations space is a significant advantage. Your ability to translate complex data workflows into intuitive user experiences will be key to your success in this role.
Key Responsibilities
Data Operations Knowledge:
- Apply your understanding of data engineering and Data Operations concepts to inform design decisions.
- Design intuitive interfaces for data operations workflows, ensuring they align with user needs and technical constraints.
- Craft & Execution:
- Develop high-quality product designs that meet business needs and improve employee productivity.
- Understand how to work off of an existing design system while also identifying problems and surfacing them to the system owner
- Create high-fidelity prototypes to communicate ideas and inform business decisions.
- Collaboration:
- Work effectively with diverse stakeholders, including product managers, engineers, and executives.
- Participate in critiques and meetings, providing constructive feedback and suggestions.
- Assist product managers in defining project requirements and prioritizing tasks.
- Strategic impact:
- Support the development of design strategies by providing research and insights that align with business objectives.
- Contribute to impactful work by collaborating with team members to ensure design initiatives align with user needs and business goals.
- Contribute to the vision for your product area by supporting product managers and providing input on design direction.
- Research & Data-Driven Design:
- Conduct qualitative and quantitative research to gather insights on user behavior, preferences, and needs.
- Analyze data and feedback to identify trends, patterns, and areas for improvement.
- Interaction & Visual Design:
- Design intuitive and user-friendly interactions for complex workflows.
- Create high-quality visual designs consistent with brand guidelines and design language systems.
- Communication & Influence:
- Communicate design concepts, ideas, and solutions effectively to stakeholders.
- Write clear and concise documentation, including design briefs and user stories.
- Team development & mindset:
- Participate in fostering a collaborative team environment by sharing knowledge and supporting peers.
Requirements:
- 4+ years of experience in product design, with a strong understanding of data engineering and Data Operations concepts.
- Portfolio showcasing your design work, including case studies and examples of successful projects.
- Strong understanding of human-centered design principles and user experience best practices.
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, prioritizing multiple projects and deadlines.
- Experience with design tools like Figma, Sketch, or Adobe Creative Cloud.
Nice to Have:
- Experience working with data engineering and Data Operations technologies, such as data pipelines, data warehousing, or cloud-based data platforms.
- Familiarity with Agile development methodologies and design sprints.
- Certification in design thinking or human-centered design.
