Position: Experienced Data Scientist

Type: Hourly Contract

Compensation: $100/hour

Location: Remote

Duration: Approximately 2 months

Commitment: 10-40 hour/week, fully remote and asynchronous

Role Responsibilities (Training support will be provided)

Analyze large structured datasets provided by partner organizations
Design reasoning-based analytics questions requiring multi-step problem-solving and data interpretation
Write and validate SQL queries (with DuckDB, pandas, or Python notebooks) to answer those questions
Produce clear, human-readable explanations that articulate analytical reasoning and insights
Format deliverables into structured JSON outputs (question, query, answer)
Ensure delivery consistency and quality through peer collaboration and reviewer feedback

Requirements

6+ years of experience in data analytics, data science, or related quantitative fields
Proficiency in SQL and Python; experience with DuckDB or pandas preferred
Strong background in data exploration, statistical reasoning, and business intelligence
Familiarity with iPython, Jupyter Notebooks, or GitHub
Excellent written communication skills with ability to explain complex reasoning clearly
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or related discipline (advanced degree preferred)
Access to a desktop or laptop computer (Chromebooks are not supported)
