Designer, Experiential

Position Overview

Our sports and fitness focused client is seeking an Experiential Designer to join their in-house studio team! This will start off as a full-time, freelance position and convert to fulltime employment for the right candidate! While freelancing this role will be 40 hours per week, fully remote. When the position converts to fulltime, the role will required hybrid onsite 2 days per week in Manhattan.

Key Responsibilities

  • Responsible for creating designs for a wide range of projects including event signage and 3D experiential environments, race assets and runner amenities, print collateral, comprehensive reference signage decks, and various digital and print assets for race events.
  • Maintain brand standards and visual integrity across multiple media platforms.
  • Collaborate with the Creative Director, and Director, Creative Operations to develop fresh visual digital approaches to both project deliverables and presentations. Provide design solutions for initiatives driven by various departments, including Marketing Strategy, Events, Sponsorship, Runner Products and Services, Membership, and Youth and Community.
  • Operate in a high-energy, can do environment while displaying an ongoing understanding of roles, responsibilities, schedules, and deadlines.
  • Produce projects from concept to completion; negotiate with agencies and vendors as needed; manage scheduling and administrative duties as needed; track production costs and design timelines as necessary.
  • Present creative assets to inform and gain approval from stakeholders; proactively represent design goals and needs in collaborative meetings.
  • Work proactively with marketing leads to refine briefs to advance creative process, save development time and save money.
  • Collaborate with creative project managers to refine and improve marketing planning timelines for Race Series events.
  • Work with freelancers as needed to meet deadlines.

Qualifications

  • 3+ year's experience, preferably with a brand agency or event production company.
  • Portfolio of diverse creative work demonstrating a strong understanding of trends, technology and design.
  • Proven experience in events, integrated marketing and graphic design.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook)
  • Mastery of Adobe Creative Suite: InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, After Effects
  • 3D modeling/rendering preferred (Sketch Up, Adobe Substance, Rhino, Blender, 3Ds Max, Maya)
  • Thorough knowledge of print and digital design, production principles, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong typography, layout, production and graphic skills.
  • Deep understanding of brand guidelines and standards for outbound marketing.
  • Excellent time management, oral and written communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work quickly and efficiently, multi-task and prioritize many projects in a fast-paced environment.
  • High degree of creativity with hands on design and production skills.
  • Highly collaborative and team player.
  • Strong attention to detail.
