Overview:
Coriander Designs is a premier custom furniture and commercial millwork/casework fabricator in Woodinville, WA and is looking for skilled drafting engineers with experience utilizing Cabinet Vision to join our team. Our drafting department is very collaborative while also supporting independence and personal growth. We value team members with a good attitude that fosters a respectful atmosphere.
Primarily we are looking for drafting engineers with experience in the commercial millwork/casework industry.
Drafting Engineer Responsibilities:
- Ability to read and understand architectural objectives from construction drawings, specifications, and supplemental documentation.
- Be able to produce submittal drawings and then shop drawings using red-lines and field measurements.
- Assist the production team on the best methods of construction.
- Must have familiarity and experience with the WI, AWI and/or AWS standards.
- Manage individual commercial casework/millwork projects through the drafting department.
- Pre-filter information for any other drafters working on your projects.
- Assist in coordinating drafters working on projects you manage.
- Coordinate with other departments (Project Managers, Estimating, Project Coordinators, Shop) on projects you work on.
- Review drawings by others on projects you manage.
- May be included in meetings with the GC or architects.
- Reports directly to the Engineering Manager.
Qualifications:
- 5+ years experience required using Cabinet Vision
- Experience using BlueBeam Revu.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel programs.
- Must have the ability to interpret architectural drawings and field dimensions.
- Must have a working knowledge of drafting standards using parametric modeling, mathematics, and proper engineering processes.
- Must have a working knowledge of how casework integrates with other products such as metal, glass, stone and solid surface.
- Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Be able to troubleshoot potential constructability and installation issues and supply alternate solutions when needed.
- Able to balance multiple projects and multitask efficiently.
- Able to quickly do material take offs for purchasing from approval drawing sets.
- Be able to integrate equipment and ADA clearances into the architectural design.
- Have a working knowledge of FSC, WI, AWI-QCP projects.
- Shop experience is preferred but not required.
- Revit/BIM experience is highly desired.
- Fusion 360 or Microvellum experience are also highly desired.
