Contractor Click is looking for a Website Design & Optimization Specialist who is primarily a strong website designer and builder, with the technical SEO knowledge needed to properly implement optimization across client websites. This role is approximately 70% website design, development, and content implementation and 30% SEO and technical optimization.

The Website Design & Optimization Specialist works directly alongside the Website, Content, and SEO teams to build, improve, maintain, and optimize websites for home improvement and home service contractors. Strong experience building websites on Duda is highly preferred.

This is not a role limited to creating mockups and handing them off. The Website Design & Optimization Specialist takes website projects from design through implementation, publishes content, makes ongoing website updates, troubleshoots issues, and ensures the finished product meets a high standard for design, conversion, usability, and search optimization. As an AI-enabled agency, this role is expected to leverage tools such as Claude Code, Codex, ChatGPT, MCPs, APIs, and AI-assisted development workflows to connect with website platforms, make rapid changes, troubleshoot problems, and continuously improve the speed and quality of website production.

Key Responsibilities

Website Design & Building

The primary responsibility of this role is building excellent websites. Responsibilities include:

Designing and building professional, conversion-focused websites for contractors and home service businesses.
Building and maintaining websites primarily using Duda, with additional platforms such as Webflow, WordPress, or Framer as needed.
Turning approved website strategies, sitemaps, content, and brand direction into polished, finished websites.
Building responsive experiences across desktop, tablet, and mobile.
Implementing reusable sections, templates, and design systems that improve production speed without sacrificing quality.
Ensuring every website meets Contractor Click's standards before launch.
Performing ongoing website updates and improvements for existing clients.
Troubleshooting design, layout, mobile, and platform-related problems.
Continuously improving the quality and efficiency of the website production process.

A strong eye for spacing, typography, hierarchy, consistency, imagery, usability, and attention to detail is required - "good enough" is not the standard for this position.

Content Publishing & Website Implementation

This role is responsible for implementing and publishing content across client websites, including service pages, location and city pages, blog posts, landing pages, website copy updates, FAQs, images and media, internal links, calls to action, testimonials, project galleries, and schema/structured data. Responsibilities include:

Working closely with the Content and SEO teams to accurately implement completed strategies and content on client websites.
Formatting content so it is easy to consume, visually engaging, conversion-focused, search-engine friendly, structurally organized, and consistent with the rest of the website.

Conversion-Focused Design

Client websites must do more than look attractive - they must build trust and drive conversion for local service businesses. Responsibilities include effectively implementing:

Strong hero sections, clear value propositions, and calls to action.
Click-to-call functionality and estimate or consultation forms.
Reviews, testimonials, trust badges, certifications, guarantees, and financing messaging.
Before-and-after galleries, service-area positioning, and mobile-first CTAs.
Social proof and strong page hierarchy.

SEO Implementation

Approximately 30% of this role involves implementing SEO recommendations from the SEO and Content teams. This role is not expected to own the entire SEO strategy - the SEO team develops much of the strategy - but is responsible for making sure that strategy gets implemented correctly on the website, understanding why recommendations matter, and identifying problems when something has not been implemented properly. This includes correct implementation of:

Title tags, meta descriptions, and H1-H6 heading structures.
Internal linking, URL structures, image optimization, and alt text.
Semantic HTML, service pages, location pages, and content hierarchy.
Schema markup, redirects, canonical tags, and indexation recommendations.
Other technical SEO improvements as directed by the SEO team.

Local Search & AI Search

Client websites are built to help contractors perform across Google organic search, Google Maps, local search, AI search engines, answer engines, and generative search experiences. This role should understand foundational concepts around local SEO, entity optimization, semantic content, structured data, website architecture, service-area relevance, internal linking, topical relevance, and crawlability/indexation - and be capable of executing SEO strategy correctly, even without owning it.

Schema & Technical Website Optimization

Responsibilities include implementing and troubleshooting structured data such as LocalBusiness, Organization, Service, FAQ, and Breadcrumb schema, review markup, and other structured data recommended by the SEO team. This role should also be comfortable troubleshooting:

Broken layouts, responsive design issues, forms, and tracking scripts.
Broken links, redirects, and indexation issues.
Page speed, Core Web Vitals, and plugin conflicts.
Website platform issues and basic domain/DNS-related website issues.

Deep engineering expertise is not required, but this role must be resourceful enough to troubleshoot problems instead of immediately passing them to someone else.

AI-Enabled Website Production

AI is becoming deeply integrated into how Contractor Click builds and manages websites. This role is expected to leverage tools such as Claude Code, OpenAI Codex, ChatGPT, MCPs, APIs, Framer, AI-assisted coding tools, automation platforms, and AI-powered design tools - including using AI and MCP connections to interact with website platforms and make changes faster, such as:

Updating website content and creating or modifying page sections.
Making bulk website changes and troubleshooting code.
Implementing schema and updating metadata.
Building components, QAing websites, and automating repetitive implementation work.

Prior knowledge of every tool is not required, but technical curiosity, fast learning, and comfort experimenting with new tools are essential. Contractor Click will train the right person on its workflows.

Qualifications

Required

Professional website design and website-building experience.
Strong responsive and mobile website design skills.
Experience building websites inside a CMS or website platform.
Strong attention to detail and understanding of website conversion principles.
Experience publishing and formatting website content.
Foundational on-page SEO knowledge and understanding of technical SEO fundamentals.
Ability to implement schema markup and independently troubleshoot common website issues.
Experience managing multiple website projects simultaneously, using project management software.
Strong communication and organizational skills, and the ability to receive feedback and quickly implement changes.
