Senior Software Engineer (Full Stack/Backend-Heavy Focus) – Remote (U.S.)

What You’ll Do

• Design and build core platform features with an emphasis on system architecture, scalability, performance, and resiliency
• Write, review, and maintain clean, well-structured code, establishing best practices across the engineering team
• Partner with stakeholders to refine requirements and propose solutions to cross-functional technical problems
• Contribute to technical strategy, architecture decisions, and long-term platform planning
• Mentor engineers, providing guidance on system design, best practices, and advanced technical topics
• Stay current with emerging technologies and patterns, applying them thoughtfully to evolve our platform
• Build cool stuff that delivers real impact for users

Key Skills

• Proven experience in designing and building complex backend systems
• Strong proficiency ideally in TypeScript/JavaScript
• Node.js, MongoDB, GraphQL, and modern API design
• Solid understanding of full application lifecycle development, including testing, code reviews, and documentation
• Ability to work autonomously and deliver high-quality results without heavy oversight
• Interest in mentoring and leveling up other developers

Bonus Points For

• Familiarity with Azure services (static site hosting, Linux app services, functions, service bus, etc.)
• Knowledge of DevOps tools (GitHub Actions, Docker, CI/CD pipelines)
• Experience integrating payment processing platforms (e.g., Stripe) and identity services (e.g., Auth0)
• Exposure to front-end development (React) while remaining backend-focused
