AI/ML Software Engineer – InsurTech Scale-Up (Remote, US)

Must-Have Tech Skills

• 3+ years’ experience in software engineering focused on machine learning, AI, or data science
• Proven experience building and deploying LLM applications in production
• Strong background in time series forecasting, NLP, and predictive modeling
• Hands-on expertise with AWS services (Lambda, S3, Bedrock, SageMaker, DynamoDB, etc.)
• Proficiency in Python for backend and AI development
• Experience with TypeScript and modern data tools (Snowflake, DBT)
• Familiarity with agentic AI frameworks such as LangGraph, LlamaIndex, or CrewAI
• Experience leveraging model platforms such as OpenAI, Hugging Face, or AWS Bedrock

The Role

As an AI/ML Software Engineer, you’ll help drive AI innovation and automation within the company’s underwriting processes. You’ll design and implement machine learning and large language model solutions that scale underwriting capabilities and move toward a fully autonomous rating engine.

Key projects include:

• Developing ML-driven pricing models to automate underwriting decisions
• Designing predictive models using structured and unstructured data for risk forecasting
• Automating loss run report processing through NLP and document intelligence
• Using computer vision to analyze satellite imagery and extract risk attributes
• Building an AI-powered chatbot (Copilot) to support underwriters with analysis and decision-making
