Scope Summary:
The Marketing Manager, Academic will manage, execute, measure, and analyze integrated, multi-channel marketing programs—including a strong emphasis on digital marketing—that drive awareness of and demand for CompTIA’s products and solutions in the academic (post-secondary and higher education) markets.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Understand the nuances of academic personas
- Utilize data analytics and ensure appropriate data capture in measuring success and formulating plans
- Ensure ROI on all marketing activities and executed campaigns
- Manage, execute, and support channel event strategy
- Execute outreach cadence to existing clients to build and deliver industry case studies, trends, data, white papers, webinars, and product launches
- Support sales and marketing teams with appropriate marketing activities to promote products and solutions
- Lead and project manage the marketing execution for new certification product launches
- Execute pre- and post-mortems for all marketing campaigns to ensure ROI and continual improvement
- Manage and support all functions of channel marketing strategy and execution
- Communicate and coordinate with key stakeholders within sales and product teams
- Deliver to metrics and KPIs
Digital Marketing Responsibilities:
- Plan, execute, and optimize targeted digital marketing campaigns across channels such as email, SEO and paid media
- Develop and manage content strategy for digital channels, including websites, landing pages, blogs, and social media
- Leverage digital analytics tools (e.g., Google Analytics, Google Search Console, SEMrush) to track, report on, and improve digital marketing performance and lead generation
- Manage CompTIA’s digital presence for academic audiences, ensuring brand consistency and relevancy across all digital platforms
- Develop and execute A/B and multivariate testing for email, ad creative, landing pages, and other digital assets
- Implement SEO best practices to increase organic search rankings and site traffic for academic product pages
- Stay current with digital marketing best practices, technologies, trends, and compliance
Key Performance Metrics:
- Channel sales growth to engage new customers
- Number of marketing qualified leads, data capture and email capture
- Growth in sales of net new
- Improvement in digital engagement metrics (click-through rates, conversion rates, cost per lead/acquisition)
- Increase in organic and paid traffic to digital assets
Skills and Qualifications:
- Expertise in managing direct and digital marketing campaigns and driving outcomes/results
- Expertise in generating leads in the Business-to-Business market
- Proficiency with digital marketing and analytics tools (Google Analytics, SEMrush, etc.)
- Excellent visual, presentation, and written communication skills
- Develops clear and effective digital communications
- Delivers to appropriate performance goals & KPIs
- Strong bias for action and taking incremental steps
- Constantly benchmarks strategies against other B2B and digital-first brands
- Collaborates with key stakeholders to ensure shared goals and attainment
Education and/or Experience:
- Degree preferred but not required for the role
- 5+ years of direct experience in marketing, with significant experience in digital marketing and campaign execution
