Job description
Our marketing priorities are to build thought leadership, brand awareness, and most importantly to drive a steady stream of marketing qualified leads to the sales team. The ideal candidate will have a balance of strategic and tactical DNA, strong analytical skills, be a good communicator, have a keen eye for details, and have experience supporting sales teams.

As the Marketing Director for ComplianceHR, you will provide strategic input and help develop tactical marketing plans that you will then help execute. You will play a significant role in a variety of inbound and outbound marketing activities including: events, social media, content creation, lead nurturing and life-cycle marketing campaigns to generate awareness and help turn qualified leads into happy clients.
Responsibilities
Marketing strategy
- Build and execute full-funnel, multi-channel marketing strategy for key audiences designed to drive awareness, facilitate lead acquisition, deepen relationships with clients and drive revenue through Sales pipeline
- Manage marketing budget, and consistently measure, analyze, and optimize all lead generation and nurturing activities to determine ROI and prioritize content, channels, and resources on a cost-per-lead basis
Lead generation & client activation
- Utilize a variety of tactics: SEO/SEM, email, outbound calling, events (webinars, conferences, roadshows), online advertising, digital, content syndication, video, social media, PR activity to drive marketing qualified leads
- Generate and send monthly newsletter that provides information about upcoming events, access to recently posted articles and blogs, insights about solution updates or improvements to prospect and client audiences, respectively
Content development
- Leverage market research, and stakeholder insights to help drive content production of whitepapers, infographics, thought leadership articles, case studies, website, social media, blogs
- Create original content and also manage contract writers to produce new and engaging blog articles, social posts, articles, and client success stories that support the overall marketing goals and content strategy
Sales support and enablement
- Collaborate with sales team to refine ICP targeting, persona development, and relevant content
- Gather sales team feedback on lead conversion, client insights, and campaign success
- Provide sales team with enablement materials, such as email sequences, contact lists for outreach, and relevant industry trends
- Create and revise sales presentations and pitch decks, as needed
Social media
- Manage corporate social media profiles (LinkedIn, X, YouTube, Instagram and Meta) and effectively represent ComplianceHR to the outside world by engaging with key audiences, monitoring platforms for trends and competitor behavior, and responding to or deleting comments
- Develop and create a comprehensive social media calendar, including 3-5+ posts per week to key social platforms, that leverages written content, videos, and graphics
Advertising
- Oversee paid advertising strategy, KPIs and goals, and manage the advertising budget
- Create ad content for use across a variety of platforms, including Google, Meta, and LinkedIn
- Coordinate with digital marketing firm and graphic designer to execute campaigns and optimize ROI
Digital
- Write, optimize, and post new webpage content, webinar recordings, articles and blogs, etc.
- Manage technical aspects of website, including weekly website updates, optimizing plugins, managing staging and development websites, updating key page content, updating website branding, managing WPEngine and plugin subscriptions
- Coordinate with marketing agency to optimize website’s SEO, keyword and backlink strategies, and to ensure best practices are followed
- Build landing pages in HubSpot for outbound campaigns, inbound lead and subscription forms, inbound demo requests, client informational content, and more
Events
- Support co-hosted webinars by developing event details, deploying invitation and follow-up emails, and editing presentation slide decks
- Coordinate tradeshows and events, including: sponsorships, keynotes, venue logistics, developing, printing/ordering and displaying booth, collateral, etc.
CRM Management
- Develop and manage automations for key processes that support Sales, Client Success, Marketing, and the overall quality of data maintained in the database
- Maintain data quality in CRM
Ideal Candidate Qualifications
General attributes:
- Bachelor's degree
- 5-7+ years of progressive B2B SaaS marketing experience, bonus points for PLG/Self-serve experience
- Human Resources, or Legal industry experience a plus
- Must have excellent writing and editing skills, and an eye for design
- Detail-oriented, able to work efficiently and think creatively
- Proven ability to work well independently and as part of a team
- Expert MS Office (Word, PPT, Excel) skills
- Ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects simultaneously
- Ability to think/plan strategically – yet also deliver tactically - a "working manager"
- Highly motivated, energetic, and positive with a proven track record of results
- Enjoys working in a dynamic, fast-paced environment
Role-specific attributes:
- Demonstrated experience with both inbound and outbound marketing tactics
- Strong understanding of online B2B lead generation strategies and tactics
- Demonstrated ability to develop engaging content and design, execute, and report on campaigns
- Experience managing multi-channel lead funnels supported by drip programs
- Working knowledge of CRM tools (very strong preference for Hubspot experience)
- Working knowledge of marketing automation tools (Hubspot)
- Working knowledge of CMS tools and ability to make basic website updates (we use a WordPress theme) and traffic analysis (Google Analytics)
- Working knowledge of social media platforms (focus on LinkedIn, Meta, YouTube) and social automation tools (such as Clearview)
Other Details
- Must be able to provide examples of lead gen campaigns, and content development
- Position is fully remote
- Minimal travel, 5-10% for occasional team meetings and client/prospect events
- Position reports to Chief Executive Officer
