_We are looking for a highly motivated and experienced Senior Software Engineer - Backend to join the fully remote Engineering team at Feedonomics. You will be working with a highly collaborative and cross-functional Backend Engineering team to deliver and scale API models and services that power our robust, high-performance, data-intensive/ETL SaaS platform.

What You'll Do

• Collaborate on the architecture, design, and development of scalable and heavily trafficked applications and services.
• Interface with frontend team members to build an effective API layer.
• Solve complex infrastructure-related problems with code, developing and providing post-release support for scalable applications.
• Research and implement integrations with Third-Party platforms, both internal and external.
• Drive technology design and articulate architecture solution options to the product owners and Engineering leadership.
• Conduct post-mortems to analyze and prevent repeat failures.
• Evaluate and recommend tools, technologies and processes that solve concrete business problems.
• Maintain an exceptional code base via building new and supporting existing backend unit tests.
• Generate and automate useful reports for stakeholders, often requiring a deep understanding of database architecture.

Who You Are

• 5+ years of programming experience in backend languages
• 2+ years experience with PHP (Strongly preferred), Python, GoLang, Java or a similar programming language
• 2+ years experience with MySQL or a similar technology
• Strong understanding of database schema design, caching and scalability
• Strong understanding of scalable data structures (JSON, NDJSON, XML)
• Strong understanding of various communication protocols (HTTP, SFTP, etc)
• Strong understanding of Distributed Systems
• Experience in Caching technologies is a plus (e.g. Redis or Memcached)
• Full-stack experience preferred (Angular, AngularJS, or React is ideal)
• Ability to develop remotely using the Linux operating system and containerization tools such as Docker
• Ability to perform time and memory complexity analysis preferred
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• BS or higher degree in Computer Science or related technical field
• Applicants must be authorized to work in the U.S.

(Pay Transparency Range: $156,354 - $234,532)

The exact salary will be dependent on the successful candidate’s location, relevant knowledge, skills, and qualifications.
