Column is the software platform for public information. We build automated tools and workflow solutions that help governments, law firms, and media organizations notify the public. Today, thousands of publishers and tens of thousands of agencies, firms, and individuals rely on Column to keep their communities informed every day. We’re reimagining how public information connects people, institutions, and media.

We're a remote-first team of engineers, designers, and builders who are committed to creating software that supports an informed public.

About The Role

Column | Remote (U.S.-based) | Full-Time

The Content Marketing Manager will build Column’s content engine: turning our expertise, customer stories, frontline insight, and national public notice developments into consistent, high-quality content that establishes Column as the expert on, and advocate for, public information, access to it, and public notice.

You’ll own the marketing calendar and Column’s core publishing channels, including our blog, newsletters, LinkedIn, monthly Public Notice reports, educational resources, case studies, and sales collateral. You’ll stay closely connected to our Customer Success and Services teams so our content reflects what is actually happening in the field.

As Column invests in SEO, media, partnerships, and demand generation, this role will help establish us as the definitive resource on public notice. We’re looking for a strong writer and steady operator who values quality over quantity, publishes consistently, and writes in a voice that is strong, professional, mature, and trustworthy. Candidates should also be able to move fluidly between long-form thought leadership, visual and video content, CMS publishing, and email campaigns while maintaining a consistent, high-quality publishing cadence.

What You’ll Do

  • Own Column’s marketing calendar and publishing cadence across the blog, newsletters, LinkedIn, email, and internal enablement, managing projects from request through drafting, review, publication, and distribution.
  • Follow public notice and public information news nationally, turning legislation, court decisions, industry shifts, and market trends into timely, credible content, including news commentary for our media channels.
  • Build a content source of truth with CSMs and our Services team (affidavits, pagination, and placement), turning their frontline knowledge into educational resources, FAQs, and enablement materials.
  • Write and produce high-quality content across formats, including weekly SEO blog posts, newsletters, customer case studies, guides, press releases, and sales collateral.
  • Own customer storytelling and case studies, from interviews and data collection through written stories, pull quotes, graphics, and video testimonials, while also supporting partnership announcements and sponsored content opportunities.
  • Create compelling visual and video content for marketing campaigns, social media, YouTube, reports, presentations, one-pagers, conference collateral, and other channels, bringing strong graphic design and video production/editing skills to Column’s content.
  • Grow Column’s LinkedIn presence and repurpose content for distribution and conversion, turning reports, customer stories, webinars, product launches, and news commentary into posts, graphics, short video, and email while improving CTAs, lifecycle campaigns, and website performance through testing.

What We’re Looking For

  • Exceptional writer and editor who makes complex, legal, or regulatory subjects clear and credible, with a high bar for accuracy and a mature, trustworthy voice.
  • Consistent, organized operator who manages an editorial calendar, juggles multiple projects, and ships on schedule without sacrificing quality.
  • Genuinely news-engaged, with curiosity about government, law, local media, and access to information, and the judgment to know what is worth writing about and when.
  • Experienced B2B content marketer with a track record of blogs, newsletters, case studies, reports, and educational resources.
  • Strong visual judgment and an eye for design, with experience creating polished assets such as reports, PDFs, presentations, social creative, email graphics, and sales collateral.
  • Digitally fluent and performance-minded, with experience publishing in a CMS, understanding SEO fundamentals, and using data, testing, and conversion insights to improve content and campaigns.
  • Collaborative and comfortable becoming an expert, able to interview customers, CSMs, operators, and leadership and translate what they know into clear content.

What Success Looks Like

Key Performance Indicators Will Include

  • Consistent publishing cadence: Approximately 1 blog post per week, 1 LinkedIn post per week, 1 newsletter per month, 1 Public Notice report per month, 1 case study per month.
  • Campaign and channel support: Timely press releases, webinar and lifecycle communications, conference collateral, sales enablement, and social distribution tied to major launches, partnerships, events, and customer stories.
  • Authority and education: Column’s blog, reports, and resources become a go-to reference on public notice and public information, and Sales, CSMs, and Services actively use them. You also establish a reliable monthly loop with internal teams to surface trends, customer questions, and field insights into published content.
  • Audience growth: Growth in organic traffic, newsletter engagement, LinkedIn followers and engagement, and gated resource downloads.
  • Business impact: Clear attribution between content and pipeline, showing which blogs, newsletters, reports, case studies, and posts generate and influence marketing leads.
  • Editorial execution: Maintain a clear content calendar, independently manage recurring workflows. Ensure content moves efficiently from idea through publication and distribution.
  • Content repurposing: Major webinars, research, case studies, product education, and customer conversations are consistently turned into multiple useful formats across web, email, LinkedIn, video, and sales enablement.

Your First 90 Days

First 60 Days: Learn Column and Build the Foundation

  • Take over the Marketing Calendar, Marketing Requests, and recurring content workflows
  • Set up a regular check-in with CSMs and Services team to source insights and stories
