Staff Software Engineer — Platform / SRE (Kubernetes, Cloud, Service Mesh)

3 month contract before conversion - up to 85/hr

We’re building a modern infrastructure platform that enables engineering teams to deploy, scale, and operate applications at enterprise scale.

This is a hands-on, high-impact role focused on Kubernetes, cloud infrastructure, and platform reliability — ideal for engineers who think like SREs but want to build systems, not just support them.

What You’ll Work On

• Designing and building a self-service platform for infrastructure and application deployment
• Operating and scaling Kubernetes clusters in production environments
• Implementing and managing service mesh (Istio) for traffic control, security, and observability
• Improving reliability, performance, and developer experience through automation
• Partnering across teams to standardize best practices and reduce operational friction

What You Bring

• 7+ years in infrastructure, platform engineering, or SRE-type roles
• Strong experience with Kubernetes in production
• Hands-on experience with AWS, GCP, or Azure
• Experience with service mesh (Istio preferred)
• Familiarity with Helm and infrastructure automation
• Strong understanding of networking and distributed systems
