What You'll Build

You’ll take the ownership of the product design of Piston, guarantor of the craft level delivered to the end-user.

• Create low-fidelity visuals to reduce risk and discuss topics on concrete artefacts, before we decide to commit resources.
• Create mockups, prototypes, and high-fidelity visuals to communicate on projects and provide materials for the implementation by the tech team.
• Lead projects from end to end, in pair with a tech lead. No product manager in between.
• Lead the design with an AI-native mindset, thinking all human-machine interactions to make AI feel ambient and seamlessly integrated throughout the user experience.
• Lay the groundwork for welcoming fellow product designers
• Maintain and improve our lightweight design system

You need

• Exceptional design skills and craft exigence. Quality creates gravity. Customers and exceptional teammates will come to us if they see and feel that the product is exceptional.
• Eagle eye for details with an eagle view for global consistency. A real attention to micro interactions so that users feels the UX/UI extra-mile. But local optimization must always propagate into the entire application.
• Sharp product thinking. A will to understand the underlying business and domain logic because this is what enable to come up with a truly relevant design
• Willingness to go out into the field. Nothing beats seeing your design in action and meet users in person ; a zoom call or an analytics tool will never give you the same quality of feedback as a real-life experience.
• Ability to engage with strong conviction as well as humility to accept feedback You can articule your design decisions to explain them to a tech audience, you are also able to understand their constraints and accept their feedback, in order to make the best choice, always for the benefit of the end-user and the business as a whole.
• Use of AI to fast track every aspect of your work. Speed up every low-value-but-necessary tasks so you can focus on what matters: craft and user understanding.
• Boldness to step outside your comfort zone. You take on challenges that stretch your abilities, experiment without hesitation, and embrace the unknown.
