Job Summary:
The Production Designer will support the Design Foundations team by ensuring that detailed, implementation-ready design specifications flow smoothly through the development lifecycle. This role is best suited for a technically-minded designer who bridges the gap between design and development, with hands-on experience delivering web or mobile applications. The ideal candidate brings strong design system creation experience, deep Figma expertise, and a portfolio that demonstrates both system-building and end-to-end delivery of design features through development.
Key Responsibilities:
• Provide clear, comprehensive design specifications for developer handoff and act as the primary point of contact for design questions during development.
• Partner closely with product designers, product managers, and engineers to define design details that support a consistent user experience.
• Review design concepts to ensure proper usage of components and translate finalized designs into production-ready documentation with a strong focus on consistency and detail.
• Contribute to the evolution of the design system, UX guidelines, and processes while supporting team-wide adoption through documentation, collaboration sessions, and training.
• Maintain and update design files, component libraries, and handoff materials in Figma, ensuring accuracy, clarity, and efficient change management.
Required Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in design, human factors, or a related field
• Minimum of 4 years of relevant experience
• Strong foundation in design principles combined with technical understanding of implementation
• Extensive Figma experience, including component creation, file structure, and collaborative workflows
• Demonstrated experience building design systems, not just using them
• Proven ability to deliver design features through the development process
• Experience supporting or delivering web or mobile applications
• Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate across cross-functional teams
• Proactive approach to process improvement and problem-solving
• Portfolio required and must include design system creation and examples of guiding designs through development
Preferred Qualifications:
• Case studies focused on components the candidate built and implementation challenges solved
• Experience documenting design systems or training teams on system usage
• Background as a frontend developer turned UI designer or as a production designer with strong technical fluency
