Position Description
Cognitive Performance Group (CPG) is seeking a full-time professional to join our team as a Junior Data Scientist.
CPG’s mission is to apply science to improve and support decision-making and complex cognitive performance for individuals and teams. We do that by conducting studies and co-developing products that model, measure, train, and support decision-making and cognitive performance in complex, time-pressured, high-risk, uncertain, and dynamic operating environments. We specialize in military contexts and we solve novel problems for Warfighters with our cutting-edge techniques and scientific rigor.
We are a dedicated, multi-disciplinary team of applied researchers, trainers, technologists, veterans, and military subject-matter experts who work closely and collaboratively with our partners, clients, stakeholders, and the end users we serve.
The ideal candidate is a data-driven problem solver with 5+ years of experience, comfortable with wrangling data pipelines and building clean, scalable architectures in the cloud. The successful applicant will work closely with a team of data analysts and human factors personnel to conduct human performance data analysis and visualization. They will be expected to contribute products and concepts to a fast-paced, high-performing team of cognitive scientists, exercise coordinators, technology developers, and tactical subject-matter experts. Specifically, the individual will be required to conceptualize solutions and lead a small team responsible for collecting qualitative and quantitative data from human operators, extracting data from system files, managing and reconciling data, and producing analytic visualizations of complex data sets in stride during training exercises and experimental field events. The ideal candidate has experience in exercise coordination and execution, military operations roles (e.g., Current Operations or Future Operations cells), and/or programming of data visualization applications.
