Software Engineer Ruby on Rails

About the Role

Are you passionate about building scalable, impactful software that improves people's lives? We’re looking for a Senior Software Engineer (Backend, Ruby on Rails) to help architect and maintain systems that empower thousands of health and wellness professionals across the U.S.

You’ll play a key role in shaping product functionality, owning backend services, and mentoring team members while collaborating in a highly autonomous, cross-functional environment.

What You’ll Be Doing

● Design and build APIs and backend services for customer-facing web and mobile apps.
● Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define and deliver product enhancements.
● Lead system architecture discussions and promote backend best practices.
● Write clean, well-tested, and maintainable code using modern development principles.
● Perform code reviews and provide technical mentorship to other engineers.
● Identify opportunities to improve performance, reliability, and scalability.

Technical Requirements

Must-Haves:
● 5+ years of experience building web applications with Ruby on Rails.
● Experience in at least one modern JavaScript framework, specifically Ember.js or React.js, and the ecosystem around those frameworks
● Experience with RESTful APIs, PostgreSQL, and modern backend architecture.
● Proficiency in writing tests with RSpec or similar frameworks.

Nice-to-Haves:

● Familiarity with Sidekiq, GraphQL, or Kafka.
● Experience working in CI/CD environments and with containerization (Docker).
● Previous experience in HIPAA-compliant environments or healthcare-related products.
