In this role, you’ll lead the design and development of scalable solutions for high-performance platforms. You’ll collaborate with technology leaders and cross-regional teams to translate complex business requirements into reliable full-stack systems. Acting as a technical referent, you’ll drive architectural decisions, mentor engineers, and ensure the delivery of high-quality, production-ready software that supports global operations.
Residing in Spain and being open to an independent contractor (freelance) engagement is mandatory.
What to Expect in This Role + Responsibilities
● Design, develop, and maintain scalable full stack applications using Java or Golang and modern frontend frameworks.
● Lead architecture and system design decisions to ensure performance, maintainability, and scalability.
● Administer and optimize AWS resources, automations, and internal platforms supporting the engineering organization.
● Promote best coding practices through code reviews, mentorship, and collaboration with cross-functional teams.
● Continuously identify and implement technical improvements to enhance efficiency and reliability.
Requirements
● Bachelor’s degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
● 5+ years of professional experience as a Full Stack Software Engineer.
● Strong experience with Java or Golang for backend development.
● Proficiency with JavaScript and modern frontend frameworks (e.g., React).
● Hands-on experience working with cloud environments (especially AWS).
● Solid understanding of object-oriented design principles and design patterns.
● Proven ability to deliver clean, maintainable, and efficient code.
● Experience designing and supporting event-driven architectures.
● Strong problem-solving and project management skills.
● Excellent communication skills in English.
● Collaborative mindset and ability to work effectively in distributed teams.
Nice to Have
● Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and tools (e.g., GitHub Actions, Jenkins).
● Experience with Infrastructure as Code tools (e.g., Terraform, CloudFormation).
● Background in platform engineering, automation, or internal tooling.
● Exposure to observability and monitoring tools.
● Interest in optimizing engineering workflows and system performance.
