Remote Data Scientist (AI & Utilities Focus) – Macedonia Based

We're looking for an experienced and versatile Data Scientist with a strong foundation in AI, software development, and data engineering. This is a remote role for candidates based in North Macedonia, with occasional travel to Malta.

The ideal candidate has excellent English skills, a hands-on mindset, and ideally some exposure to utilities-related sectors, especially water systems.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design and deploy machine learning models and AI pipelines
• Analyze structured and unstructured data for strategic insights
• Collaborate with international teams across dev, operations, and product
• Contribute to both R&D and production-ready AI solutions
• Travel to Malta 2–3 times per year (approx. 2–3 months total/year)

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Data Science, or related field (Master’s preferred)
• 4+ years of experience in data science and AI/ML
• Excellent written and spoken English
• Strong coding skills in Python and at least one other language
• Experience with machine learning libraries (e.g., Scikit-learn, TensorFlow, PyTorch)
• Background in utilities, water infrastructure, or environmental systems is a big plus
• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) is an advantage
