Company Profile

Code.org is an education innovation nonprofit dedicated to the vision that every student in every school has the opportunity to learn about artificial intelligence (AI) and computer science (CS) as part of their core K-12 education. We increase participation in AI+CS education by reaching students of all backgrounds where they are — at their skill level, in their schools, and in ways that inspire them to keep learning, with a focus on increasing participation by young women and students from other underrepresented groups. The leading provider of K-12 AI+CS education curriculum across the globe, Code.org also organizes the annual Hour of AI campaign, building on the legacy of the Hour of Code, which has engaged more than 15% of all students in the world!

A unifying approach in a divided world

Code.org's global role in the K-12 computer science movement is only possible because we use a unifying approach across diverse and often divided stakeholders. At a time of increasing polarization, the idea of increasing opportunity for students unites people from across the political spectrum. Code.org's team members, students, teachers, and supporters have diverse and diverging view points, and they are all welcome in our mission. Read more.

Duties And Responsibilities

Website Management & Optimization

  • Assist with the day-to-day management of Code.org and CSforALL websites (pre-sign in, non-studio), ensuring high performance, accessibility, and alignment with organizational priorities.
  • Collaborate with Engineering and external developers to support website roadmap execution, technical improvements, and creative updates.
  • Assist in implementing UX/UI improvements based on user research, analytics, and stakeholder input to enhance site usability and conversions.
  • Support the implementation and optimization of the content strategy and site architecture in partnership with content creators and brand stakeholders.
  • Ensure all content meets accessibility standards, is mobile-responsive, and supports multilingual needs as appropriate.

SEO & Analytics

  • Support SEO efforts, keyword strategy, and metadata optimization to increase search engine visibility.
  • Monitor and analyze website traffic, engagement, and performance metrics using tools like Google Analytics and Google Search Console.
  • Provide insights and recommendations to the Director and broader team to inform ongoing strategy and experimentation.
  • Partner with the Marketing Analyst to report on KPIs and develop dashboards that track user behavior and campaign impact.

Conversion & Engagement Optimization

  • Support donation and advocacy-related pages to maximize fundraising and policy impact through optimized user flows and messaging.
  • Assist in the implementation of personalization and dynamic content strategies to tailor user experiences by audience.
  • Help implement A/B testing, heatmapping, and user journey analysis to improve conversion rates and engagement across key landing pages.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Work closely with the Director of Email & Website to align web initiatives with email, lifecycle marketing, social, and broader organizational goals.
  • Coordinate with internal teams (Marketing, Advocacy, Programs, Fundraising) to ensure web content reflects current priorities and campaigns.
  • Help manage relationships with web vendors and external contractors, ensuring timely, high-quality deliverables and adherence to budget.

Experience & Qualifications

We seek candidates who have:

  • Hands-on experience with CMS platforms (e.g. Contentful, Framer), Google Analytics, SEO tools, and web performance tools.
  • Strong understanding of UX best practices, SEO, information architecture, and responsive design.
  • Excellent organizational and project management skills, with the ability to prioritize and multitask.
  • Ability to work independently on execution, with strong collaboration skills across teams

  • Experience with web accessibility standards (e.g., WCAG AA), responsive design principles, and basic HTML/CSS or design tools (e.g., Figma, Adobe XD).
  • Hands-on experience with A/B testing and heatmapping platforms (e.g., Ninetailed, Optimizely) to inform data-driven UX and conversion improvements.
  • Experience managing and evolving CMS architectures (e.g., Contentful), collaborating with Engineering to structure content models and implement API-driven updates that improve performance and scalability during major campaigns.
