Role: UX/UI Designer (pharmaceuticals)

Location: United States (CST/EST locations)

Rate: $35-55/hr DOE

We’re looking for an experienced pharmaceutical UX/UI Designer with agency experience for a client.

Responsibilities:

  • Contribute to the end-to-end design process, from initial concept development and user research to detailed UI specifications and visual design.
  • Conduct user research, including interviews, surveys, and usability testing, to gather insights and inform design decisions within the pharmaceutical context.
  • Develop user flows, wireframes, prototypes (low-fidelity and high-fidelity), and information architecture that effectively communicate complex pharmaceutical information.
  • Create visually appealing and user-friendly user interfaces that adhere to brand guidelines and accessibility standards (WCAG).
  • Ensure all design solutions comply with relevant pharmaceutical regulations, industry guidelines (e.g., FDA), and legal requirements.
  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including strategy, copywriting, medical/regulatory review, and development, to ensure design feasibility and alignment with project goals.
  • Present design and rationale to internal teams and clients, clearly articulating design decisions and incorporating feedback.
  • Maintain and evolve design systems and style guides to ensure consistency across all digital products.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest UX/UI trends, tools, and best practices, particularly within the healthcare and pharmaceutical industries.
  • Contribute to a positive and collaborative team environment.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Design, Advertising, Marketing, or similar.
  • 4+ years of experience as a UX/UI Designer, with demonstrable experience working within a pharmaceutical advertising agency.
  • A strong portfolio showcasing user-centered design solutions for web, mobile, and other digital platforms, with specific examples of pharmaceutical projects.
  • Proficiency in industry-standard design and prototyping tools such as Figma (required), Sketch, Adobe XD, InVision.
  • Solid understanding of user research methodologies and the ability to translate research findings into actionable design insights.
  • Excellent understanding of usability principles, information architecture, visual design, and interaction design.
  • Proven ability to navigate and adhere to pharmaceutical regulations and compliance requirements in digital design.
  • Strong collaboration skills and the ability to work effectively within cross-functional teams.
  • Experience working in an Agile development environment is a plus.
  • Familiarity with accessibility standards (WCAG) and their implementation in digital design.
  • Experience with Veeva CLM or other pharmaceutical content management systems.
  • Knowledge of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript fundamentals a plus.
  • Experience designing for different target audiences within the pharmaceutical space (HCPs, patients, DTC)
  • Availability for full-time hours now through June 2025 with the possibility of extension.
