Intermediate Full Stack Software Engineer (Fully Remote)

Our technology empowers banks, insurers, and listed enterprises to manage estate resolution and compliance with greater speed, security, and transparency.

We are growing rapidly, and with that comes the opportunity to deepen our partnerships with South Africa’s largest listed companies. While you’ll be employed by Cliqtech, your primary focus will be supporting and building digital solutions in collaboration with major enterprise clients. This is a highly strategic and technical role for an engineer who wants to influence architecture, scale systems, and work in a space where technology meets purpose.

What You'll Do

• Develop and maintain robust features within a microservices environment
• Integrate and maintain secure APIs with third-party systems and enterprise platforms
• Participate in technical design and help refine best practices for the team
• Work with Docker and CI/CD pipelines to ensure smooth code deployments
• Collaborate with product managers, analysts, and other engineers across agile sprints
• Write clean, maintainable code and contribute to peer code reviews

Minimum Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in full stack software development
• Strong proficiency in PHP 8.x and Laravel
• Solid understanding of PostgreSQL or MySQL, including schema design and query optimisation
• Familiarity with Vue.js or React
• Experience building and consuming RESTful APIs
• Comfortable with Git (branching, PRs, code reviews) and Agile methodologies
• Familiarity with Pest or PHPUnit, and committed to writing testable code
• Ability to take ownership of features from start to finish with minimal guidance
• Eagerness to learn, clear communication, and a proactive approach to problem-solving

Nice to Have

• Experience with Laravel ecosystem tools like Forge, Filament, or Livewire
• Experience with Docker, CI/CD pipelines, GitHub Actions or Bitbucket Pipelines
• Experience with AWS or similar cloud environments
