Our ClipSuite platform monitors production processes and automatically identifies quality, yield, and equipment availability issues, alerting factory teams in real-time to implement changes. We connect to any station in the manufacturing process, from manual to fully automated, providing a 360-degree view of operations from site to sensor.

The Role

As a Founding Software Engineer, you'll join our founding team of 5 to help build and scale our IoT-enabled manufacturing platform. You'll work across our entire technology stack, from IoT devices to on-premise industrial servers, to our AWS cloud infrastructure powering our analytics engine and user interfaces.

Core Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain our full-stack applications using Go, Python, NextJS, and React.
• Develop and optimize our data pipeline for processing real-time sensor data from industrial equipment
• Lead architecture decision-making for both on-premise and cloud components
• Implement and improve data models and math engines for low-latency data retrieval and analysis
• Build responsive and intuitive interfaces for manufacturing teams to visualize operational data
• Work with IoT devices and help improve our connectivity solutions to industrial automation systems
• Participate in agile development processes, code reviews, and technical planning
• Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues in both development and production environments

Qualifications

• 3-5 years of professional software development experience
• Strong proficiency in Go and Python for backend development
• Experience with React and NextJS for frontend development
• Familiarity with NoSQL databases, particularly ScyllaDB or Cassandra
• Experience with real-time data processing and visualization
• Understanding of message brokers like Kafka
• Experience with AWS cloud services
• Knowledge of IoT protocols and industrial automation systems is a plus
• Previous experience as an early engineer at a startup is preferred
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently
• Excellent communication skills and team collaboration abilities
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience

This position is based in the United States, with preference for candidates located near our offices in Palo Alto, CA.
