A DAY IN THE LIFE:
As a senior engineer on the Auth* (authentication and authorization) team at Clever, you'll work on our product offerings centered around sign in and application access. This includes single sign-on, multi-factor authentication, and device access. You will develop features with an eye for accessibility, reliability, and security to enhance Clever's mission of providing simplified, secure access to digital learning.
We work across the full-stack to create products that are robust and delightful for students, educators, and developers to use. We write frontend code in Node.js, TypeScript, and React with Redux and use Go for backend services. We write device code for iOS and Windows. We also use MongoDB, Postgres, Dynamo, Docker, and many AWS services (ECS, Step Functions, etc).
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR:
4+ years of experience as a full-stack Software Engineer
Experience with full stack technologies like TypeScript, React, NodeJS, Go, REST APIs and micro services
Experience with AWS technologies including DynamoDB, ECS, Step Functions, and SQS
Experience with generating and automating unit and end-to-end tests
Git, continuous integration, and deployment tools
Familiarity with security best practices for authentication and authorization, including user identity management, multi-factor authentication (MFA), and ensuring the secure handling of sensitive data
Experience leading projects and collaborating with engineers, designers, and other stakeholders to create meaningful impact
Experience with design and architecture of end-to-end systems to solve a variety of product and data needs
Ability to perform in-depth analysis on complex problems across the stack in order to find root cause and opportunities to improve performance
An appreciation of code simplicity, performance and maintainability
The drive to learn and teach through collaboration and code reviews

SALARY TRANSPARENCY:
The range of our base salary cash compensation for this role for candidates living in the United States, besides NYC and San Francisco, CA, is between $136,000 - $190,000. For candidates living in NYC and San Francisco, CA is between $149,000 - $209,000. All final offers are determined using multiple factors including experience and level of expertise.
