About Chubbies and Cheekies
Chubbies is the outfitter of Fridays at five—a men's lifestyle and apparel brand built for guys who work hard, have fun, and believe life is better when you don't take yourself too seriously.
We make clothes with personality. From our signature shorts and swimwear to shirts, polos, outerwear, and everything in between, Chubbies brings more fun, color, confidence, and comfort to the way guys dress.
Cheekies is our women's swimwear brand, with its own voice, audience, and opportunities for growth.Together, the two brands create opportunities to reach new customers, tell connected stories, and bring people together.
The Opportunity
We're looking for a Manager of Engagement Marketing to own how Chubbies and Cheekies show up and engage, on social and in real life. Reporting to the Director of Marketing, you'll own social media soup to nuts: channel strategy, the calendar, publishing, community, and reporting. You'll also lead the brand's in person moments, from events and activations to the content that comes out of them.
This is a strategist and an operator in one role. You'll set the direction for each channel, keep the calendar honest, make sure every post is plugged in correctly, and drive the big ideas from pitch through postproduction. Think a hot dog eating contest to launch a red, white, and blue collection, or releasing a creator into Scottsdale, AZ in a Chubbies-wrapped golf cart to "fix fits" during the week of the Waste Management Phoenix Open.
You'll lead the in-house content team, work alongside the Influencer Manager, and increasingly lead outside contractors, production partners, and talent as more content production moves external. The Content Creator makes the content. You make sure it lands.
What You’ll Do
Own Social Strategy & Channel Direction
- Own the overarching social strategy in alignment with the Director of Marketing, with a distinct voice and role for each channel across Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, Facebook, X, and Threads
- Define why each channel matters and what success looks like on it
- Shift the team from posting to programming: build and sustain recurring series and formats that give people a reason to follow
- Stay ahead of platform changes and bring new formats and opportunities to the team
Run Social Soup to Nuts
- Own the social calendar: posting dates, draft dates, review dates, and production dates, locked at least a month out
- Manage publishing in Sprout Social and make sure every post is plugged in correctly, from captions and tags to cover photos and thumbnails
- Workshop and optimize captions, hooks, and copy with the Content Creator, with an eye on SEO, discovery, and reach
- Review drafts, route approvals to the Director of Marketing, and present work on time
- Own YouTube end to end, including long-form programming, descriptions, thumbnails, and Shorts cutdowns
Lead the In-House Content Team
- Lead and develop the in-house content team with clear direction, feedback, and priorities
- Ideate together, then make sure what gets made is built for the right channel and distributed correctly
- Translate brand and campaign priorities into clear briefs and deadlines
Drive Brand Moments & Big Ideas
- Come up with the social-first stunts, series, and moments that make the brands impossible to ignore
- Take those ideas from pitch to execution: line up videographers, crews, vendors, and talent, oversee production and post, route approvals, and optimize the output for every channel
- Partner with the Influencer Manager to identify talent for projects like scripted series, then work with external production partners on scripts, post-production, and rollout
- Lead outside contractors and creators as more content production moves external
Lead Events & Real-Life Connection
- Plan and oversee brand events and activations where the brands show up in person, from concept and design through vendor management and day-of execution
- Decide, with the Director of Marketing, when and where the brand should show up
- Partner with event managers, vendors, and brand partners to make sure everything is delivered on time and on brand
- Ideate with the Content Creator on what content comes out of each event, then execute it
Build Community
- Lead community building across owned channels, including the Broadcast Channel, Facebook Group, close-friends programs, comments, and DMs
- Turn small moments in the comments into bigger brand stories
- Drive surprise-and-delight moments that put the brand in people's real lives
Report, Learn & Improve
- Deliver timely monthly and quarterly reporting on social and community performance
- Use performance insights to sharpen hooks, formats, and programming
- Experiment with AI and emerging tools across planning, editing, and reporting to increase output without sacrificing quality
Key Results
Success in this role will be measured by:
- A clear, channel-specific social strategy that each platform executes against
- A social calendar locked a month out, with drafts, reviews, and posts landing on time
- Recurring series and programming that grow the audience
- Brand events and activations delivered on time, on budget, and on brand, with strong content coming out of each
- Big ideas that move from pitch to execution without stalling
- A growing, engaged community across owned channels
- Clean, timely reporting that informs what we do next
What You Bring
- 5+ years in social media management, brand marketing, or content strategy, ideally at a consumer, apparel, or DTC brand
- Proven ownership of a brand's social channels end to end, including strategy, calendar, publishing, community, and reporting
- Experience managing people, contractors, or production partners, with the ability to guide creative work without doing all of it yourself
- A track record of coming up with ideas and making them happen: events, stunts, series, or activations you took from pitch to delivery
- Event planning and vendor management experience, with comfort owning timelines, budgets, and day of execution
- Strong type-A organization: you live by calendars, deadlines, and checklists, and nothing slips
- Hands-on fluency with Sprout Social (or similar), native platform tools, and YouTube Studio
- A sharp social strategist's eye: you know why each channel exists, what works on it, and how to measure it
- Cultural awareness and the judgment to spot an opportunity before it peaks
- Comfort working with talent, comedians, creators, and production partners
- Flexibility for travel and occasional evening or weekend events
- A sense of humor that fits the brands
How We Operate
- Consistency over intensity
- Proactive over reactive
- Programming over posting
- Relationships over transactions
How We Think About Content
- Culturally relevant and shareable. We stay close to what's happening and look for ways to contribute something fresh while the moment is unfolding.
- Entertainment comes first. We start with a story, a personality, or an idea that earns attention. Product becomes part of content people want to watch.
- True to each brand. Chubbies content should feel fun, irreverent, and unmistakably Chubbies. Cheekies content should express its own personality with the same clarity and confidence.
