JOB PURPOSE :
Translate the Chronos brand guide into a modular Canva template + element library (colors, type styles, shapes, iconography, photo masks, CTA bars) covering our core publishing surfaces. Deliver editable, documented, multi-ratio templates that protect brand consistency while remaining fast and flexible for everyday use.
Phase 1 Deliverables (Master Layout Build)
We want a focused build: ~15 designer-built Master Canva Layouts that our internal team can duplicate into additional pages, sizes, and campaign variants.
Definitions
- Master Layout = Designer-built, fully styled Canva page with locked brand layer + editable content zones
- Working Variant = Any size, color, or copy duplicate derived from a Master.
Master Layout Families & Counts (finalized at kickoff)
- Blog Hero / Feature (2 masters + background/element set)
Base 16:9 wide hero w/ safe crop guides for blog, OG/social, and 1:1. Includes Title text block styles (short / long), Category tag chips, and 5 branded background options (solid, gradient, pattern/hex, photo-tint, data grid). Designed so marketers can swap backgrounds per post.
- LinkedIn Single Tiles (3 masters: Stat, Quote/Testimonial, Promo)
Built at 1:1; we’ll duplicate to 4:5 internally. Supports fast copy updates, optional photo/ avatar drop zone.
- LinkedIn Carousel Starter (2 masters: Cover, Content Slide)
Consistent headline + pagination cues. Team duplicates slides as needed.
- Email Header & Promo Banner (2 masters)
Newsletter masthead + Promo strip. Desktop grid w/ mobile-safe zones; dark‑mode friendly overlays.
- Event / Webinar Promo (2 masters: Speaker Highlight, Date/Countdown)
Speaker photo masks (hex/circle) + copy areas. Ratio usage guide (16:9, 1:1, 4:5, 9:16) so we can self-export.
- Metrics / Case / Testimonial Cards (2 masters)
Big Stat + Multi-Stat/Quote hybrid. Used for case study snippets, campaign results, testimonials.
- Story / Vertical Background (1 master)
Branded 9:16 background frame w/ headline & CTA zones; adaptable for Reels, Shorts, Stories.
Reusable Element Pack
A single assets folder delivered as grouped Canva components + downloadable SVG/PNG:
- Chronos logo lockups (icon, horiz, stacked)
- Hex pattern overlays (light/dark)
- 5 Branded Backgrounds (aligned w/ blog hero variations; re-usable across channels)
- Mini Avatar Starter Set (5 poses) in a DTC/Retention theme (e.g., holding cart, inbox/email, package/fulfillment, retention loop/arrow, shield/lock for customer retention). Simple, flat, recolorable
- Speaker Headshot Masks (hex, circle, triple-head group) for webinar & social swaps
- Lifecycle channel icons (email, SMS, ecommerce/cart, subscription loop, growth arrow)
- CTA bars & buttons (primary, secondary)
- Data chips / KPI tags (%, $, lift arrows) sized for tiles & email headers
- Basic chart/infographic shapes (bar, column, line trend band, pie wedge, comparison arrows) so marketers can build quick data visuals without redrawing
Key Accountabilities
- Convert brand guide into Canva Brand Kit (colors, fonts, styles)
- Design & build prioritized template families with locked brand layers + editable content zones
- Create a lightweight illustration/icon set aligned to Chronos hex/geo motif
- Provide ratio variants & platform-safe padding
- Document usage (short guide or Loom walkthrough) so non-designers succeed
- QA templates and revise from user feedback
- Package final component library (vectors/icons/patterns) for future updates
KPIs (What Success Looks Like)
- Internal Quality Score: Quick post-use ratings from marketing team on ease + brand fit
- Brand Consistency Pass Rate: Assets created from templates pass brand review with minimal edits
- Turnaround Time Reduction: Avg time from content brief to publish drops vs. baseline
- Multi-Channel Coverage: Templates successfully used across at least 5 internal surfaces (blog, LinkedIn, email, event, stat card) within 60 days
Key Qualifications
Must Have
- Portfolio showing template systems (Canva or Figma-to-Canva), not just one-off graphics
- Strong layout + type hierarchy across social, email, and presentation formats
- Experience building flexible color/theme variants inside Canva
- Vector/illustration ability sufficient to create simple icon & shape libraries
- Clear written + async communication
Nice to Have
- Experience designing assets for lifecycle / retention / email marketing teams
Light motion skills (simple Canva animations or GIF exports).
